Popular Post Beerfish
LaFleur is the best coach on the staff quite easily. Admits to mistakes, corrects the mistakes, admits he needs to reevaluate, does so. The people in this world that readily admit to mistakes or that their planing needs adjustment you can trust. The people that are never wrong you can't trust. 24 2

I now stand corrected based on weeks since he moved to the booth.

The year with Marshall and Decker was awesome too but the skill level and experience between the 2 is the difference for me. This feels sustainable with the young guns. 6

Popular Post rangerous
good for lafleur. he's protecting his qb. he called a play that had a sneak option and the qb tried to execute the sneak. and the thing is that tampa still had a long field, needing a td with 2 minutes or so. the defense really needed to come up with a play or two. 11

But I do think he's clearly the most creative play caller - we've have to have had the dullest, least imaginative OC's in the league. Let's see him continue to grow as the players around him grow.

We’re lucky the head coach made acquaintances like this when he was younger. The running game is borderline dominant, the trick plays fun, and the rookie QB actually seems to be developing. And yes, taking the bullet for Zach -true or false- is just simply the smart/right thing to do. 17 1

Yes. The defense didn't even really need to have made good play - just not multiple bone head ones...2 minute, no TO' - 90 + yards...shouldn't be able to do that.

Popular Post UntouchableCrew
He's just falling on the sword for Wilson, which is the right thing to do. I echo the sentiments about LaFleur. What he's done with the talent (and injuries) we have on this team is legitimately impressive. The offense has consistently improved as the season has gone on, especially the running game. If Wilson can take a leap in 2022 and we add a few pieces this offense can be legit next season.

I feel similar man. Usually the Jets don't turn their ship a bit until they make a few kneejerk, short-sighted moves like throwing money at free agents or making a big trade up to try to jumpstart the team. It might turn at 5-win team into a 7-win team for a season but it never lasts. This feels like the first time we're seeing some glimpses of progress and young players growing while the Jets still have a ton of resources in the tank in terms of Draft picks and Cap space. We're still churning at the bottom obviously but to me this team is much better than the ones we've seen the past two years, already might have its QB of the future, and has solid pieces on the offense to build around. The heavy lifting will need to be done on defense but I feel like the Jets have the resources to do that. It will depend on how gradually they're willing to do it or if they want to throw some big $$$ at a couple of starters in Free Agency. The forum has been down on Saleh (I get it) but I think he's truly being patient with the defense and wants the offense built first. On a bad defense the Jets didn't take a single player on Days 1 and 2 of the Draft. I think Saleh knows that once the Jets turn on the faucet for the defense he'll be able to start doing the things he really wants to do. Feels like Saleh just hasn't had the horses to run on D, doesn't yet have the pass rushers he needs or the sure tackling LBs to really get past the first few pages of his defensive playbook. Draft two or three guys in the first 2 rounds, sign a pair of starters in FA, and continue to develop promising young guys like the ones we have the in Secondary (Hall, MCII, Echols, etc.). To me it feels like this D is a stud pass rusher, two linebackers and two safeties away. Those 5 pieces will make the CB group in a zone defense look a whole lot better.

I don’t even think he hung anyone out to dry. He basically said what everyone else has said. They had it as an option and should have said give it to Berrios but they didn’t. Said they needed to communicate that better. This seems to be getting overblown. They’re all rookies and all seem to be correcting their mistakes.
