More Cowbell
He was getting rid of the ball fast, making good decisions. The running out of bounds adding 10 yards to the FG was horrible. I know it was tough conditions with the wind and how depleted the team was but there were times he was running around like 20 yards behind the LOS and I was saying why hasn't he thrown the ball away yet. It seems he took a step back. 1 7

Popular Post TheNuuFaaolaExperience
Joe Montana would have looked marginally better with this offensive line, TE, and WR room today. 6

If he's taking sacks like this early next year then you're looking for a QB in 2023.
Anthony Jet
Ehhh. An argument can be made for that but also could be made that he was trying to make something, anything happen. It’s bad habits to do what he did. But In a game like today where absolutely nothing was working trying to make a play is more acceptable then a close game where we they were battling and he makes those dumb plays

BigRy56
No. I think he did the best he could given the circumstances. Many other QBs did a lot worse against the Bills 1

Grandy
I think he had a completely ordinary game in proportion to his circumstances. A couple sacks could have been avoided or mitigated if he made a better decision, but as a whole this is a game where you dump tape. He didn't play good, but that doesn't affect his outlook or progression in the slightest. 2
PS17
Yes, he regressed. Regression was expected given the circumstances. Don’t see any path to Wilson playing well in that game with no protection and no pass catchers.

Kinda hard when you can't run the football and you are throwing to your #5,6,7,8 WR's The last month has been better. Kid still has a very long way to go. Hopefully bringing in some talent that stays healthy will help his cause
ScarletKnight89
I don't think he regressed. We all knew the situation he was in with all the injuries to the receivers and O-Line, along with the weather being crappy today. He didn't play well. But I wouldn't call today a regression.
CSNY
No one I mean no one could have operated behind that line today. Not Brady Not Montana Not Unitas nor could Jim Brown do any running so there is no way to make any type of evaluation on Zach
RedBeardedSavage
Is there anything you can actually learn about him today? Sacked 8 times. No running game. Injuries everywhere. He didn't do anything special, he didn't do anything atrocious. I just don't think there's anything to truly grade about Wilson today. Fire the training staff and keep bringing in talent everywhere.

I've been as critical of Zach as anyone, and said he needed to do a better job of getting rid of the ball and not fading backwards today in the game thread, but I'm not sure you take anything from this game. This game he was actually under the kind of pressure that JN acted like he and Sam Darnold before him, were under every single snap of their careers here. 10
Jet Life
Not a good game but it doesn’t matter. Was missing WR1-4, RB1, LT1, C1 . The type of game you don’t learn anything so you just burn the tape and move on

Hal N of Provo
If he threw it away this fast they would almost all be throw aways. He was trying to compete on a day it wasn’t there, but that’s not a bad thing. I agree you burn the tape on this one. No pom-poms for not spending cash again next year. Vader
He needs to stop running backwards but any objective viewer here will admit it is impossible to evaluate this game. He had no turnovers with all that being said and a TD throw that kept the team in the game. There was literally no running game and no pass pro.

You can't take anything from ZW's performance other than (1) he hung in there, and (2) he delivered an awesome TD strike to Cole on 4th and 5. That isn't progress People keep saying this and I mean this sincerely what would you want him to do? Would you have been happy if he just dropped back 30 times and throw the ball away 25 times after basically a three second scan of the field? So drop back, look for 2.5 seconds and then throw it away...and just do that three times and punt for every series... Because, honestly - that was the other option to what he did. 3

munchmemory
Does Zach Wilson understand that a QB can step up in the pocket rather than running to the right sideline? We're going to be watching this mess for at least two more years. 1 1
