Joe Willie White Shoes
Why do players today tear ACLs like crazy when such an injury was unheard of in the 60s and 70s and was rare in the 80s ?? Is it a combination of being ripped plus the artificial turf? Are players just too big for their knee joints? You can strengthen your quad and hamstrings and calves, but not your ligaments. I did full unlimited basketball practice for 2 weeks before it finally got checked out. You can walk pretty pain free with a blown ACL. It’s moving laterally that is the issue. Yeah, he'll be iffy for the combine but back for OTA's with whoever gives him a shot. I say we grab him.

Ligaments don't get stronger. Bigger, heavier, faster, better cutting on turf, it is just such a shearing force the ligaments can't handle it.

I remember as a kid, Billy Sims was awesome, then he hurt his knee and was gone forever. That seemed to be what happened back then to guys, hurt knee for a non QB was a death sentence, not that QB's did much better, but they could be immobile out there. Whenever the 'scope' was invented/perfected, that changed it all.

Arthroscopic. My dad blew his acl in 1979. The scar was probably 8 inches long, and the 1st thing they had him do was lay in bed for weeks and immobilize it. Now the outer scar looks like 3 large freckles. That causes a huge amount of scar tissue to form. Now, they have a machine that is putting motion into the knee within a day.

sec101row23
This is the pace Georgia probably wanted. Just need to make a few more plays, everything is hard for UGA right now. Get Pickens some more targets.
