Absolutely. As I posted in another thread, only way I could see JD even thinking about it for us would be if we signed a guy like Mike Williams in FA, and also a # 1 TE. Even under those circumstances, can't see it. We just need way too much in other areas. Enjoy your first weekend in 40 years as national Champs.??

Thanks.  First weekend ever.  Last one was before I was a Dawg.  I was a freshman at Penn in 1980.  Georgia was grad school about 10 years later.  I became a Dawg a year or two after Vince Dooley retired, during the Ray Goff era.  Which was pretty ugly at times.  I am enjoying the heck out of this one.  Already rewatched the game three times this week: regular feed, coaches breakdown and all 22.

Timing is everything. You missed the Quakers trip to the Final 4 in 1979 led by Tony Price.?  Makes this even sweeter.

I claim the Final 4 berth as my own.  I was early admission at Penn, so by the time the 79 NCAA tourney rolled around, I knew I was going there.   May not have been a student yet, but I watched every minute of that run through Iona, Syracuse, UNC and St Johns.  And the thrashing we took from Magic Johnson's Mich State team.  I still consider that the greatest NCAA Final Four ever.  First meeting between Magic and Bird.  A really good Depaul team getting Ray Meyer to the Final Four.  And the Cinderella from the Ivy League.

I was a sophmore for the 1980 football season: 79-80 was my freshman year.

Iona with Jimmy V. The tournament then was still so relatively small that it was  seeded with schools from the actual region.  True story....I had a friend from the first firm I worked for. He played , and started, for USC for 3 years in the early 1970's. Was on the Paul Westphal teams. I think it was his JR. year, they were like 28-2, with both losses to UCLA. They were #2 in the country, but never got to go to the Dance because they only took conference champs. Can't even fathom that today. 1979 was a great final 4. Wasn't Mark Aguire on that DePaul team?

I wanted him at 4. And read he’ll be 100% and not lose any speed as per his doctors.

There are other WR options in this draft that are healthy.  Why take him over the OSU receivers or Burks?  I’m not even sure he is my first choice if completely healthy but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  If they got him with an early second rd pick maybe, but I think he as waaay too much risk at 10.   Guess we will see how the NFL views him in April.

I hear ya...

But I just love his smooth explosiveness.   He's been my favorite

But yes, you're probably right why take the risk If you don't have to.

Hes got some positives but from what ive read he needs some polishing and is a little soft on crossing routes.   Add in the injury and I dont think he is the best choice for this offense and Wilson.  Id like a guy that can make contested catches and crossing routes with YAC and can contribute right from the beginning including OTAs.
