2022 opponents

Recommended Posts

There are 12 winnable games on there, potentially 13 depending on what ARod does. Buffalo x2, Baltimore, Cinci & GB should annihilate us. But we should be at least competitive with the other teams on the schedule and there are 3 or 4 "should win" games there (pitt, Jax, det, den) ahead of FA & the draft

I would say 8-9 wins is reasonable. The real question marks are Miami, NE, and Cleveland. If Mayfield plays like he did in 2020, we don't really have a chance against a healthy Browns. I don't really know what Miami is going to look like, but their defense is pretty good. The Pats are the same, but their offense is also better. So I think it's a 50-50 at the home one, but probably a loss away.

I will be satisfied with 8 wins, happy with 9, impressed with 10, and surprised with 11+. 7 is meh for me, and 6- is a no go zone.

Way too soon. Free agency, draft, training camp most importantly- can they finally get out of camp healthy? If Douglas hits like 20. Probably not great. If like last year, add pieces and Zach progresses?

Anywhere between 4& 9 seems right.?

Need to increase to at least 6-7 wins.  Have to split with Miami and cheaters.  8 wins would be a huge jump but is a possibility

We managed 4 wins with a decimated team and one of the hardest schedules in the AFC. Next season we will start with a easier than average SoS (.495 in 2021 season), and with more FA dudes and more drafted and experienced players. If we only manage 6 games, that will be a disappointment to me. Saleh and JD won't keep their jobs that long if they mosey along like that.

At least, that's what I think

If the O/U is 6 1/2 wins I’d bet the under in a heart beat. 5-12 is my guess.

This is still going to be a really bad team with lots of rookies and second year guys trying to find their way.

If Wilson takes a big leap maybe 1 or 2 more wins are possible, but 7 wins is asking a lot of this team.

how many wins do you see?  I see 6 as of right now.

How many people will go to see those home opponents if/when Jets suck again next year.

god some of you set the bar low

I’m trying really hard to find a road win here, Kev. I’ll give us two, but I have no idea where they’re coming from. ?

3-5 at home sounds a little optimistic, but I’m trying to look on the bright side.
If you or anyone else can find more than 5 wins here, I’ll gladly take them.

I think we beat Miami, Cheats, Chicago, Detroit, Jax at home and Pittsburgh and Seattle on the road. Possible win at Denver or Minny.

Realistically, 4. We lose all division games again. JD gone. Woody says the arrow is not pointing up.

Why is this realistic? I mean, sure, if JD screws up FA and draft, and if injuries happen. But at this point the jury is still out on whether or not JD is a good GM, because he's had a bad year and a good year in the draft, and he's been amazing with trading this past year. Jets have their easiest schedule since Gase's first year (7-9), and if injuries don't happen Jets have a solid shot at 8 wins.

That's who Joe Douglas sees on Black Monday if we win 5 games next season.

Forget the season record for a moment, are we going to finally win a game in the division for the first time in 3 years?

This is the key thing IMHO. We have to start winning division games otherwise our progress elsewhere will count for nothing.

Miami are in some flux - new coach, who knows what they do at QB etc. Patsies were good at points but not the dominant team of old, we need to be able to split with them at least in 2022. More about beating BB than the players on the field in some ways. Buffalo ... eh, doubt we do much there.

Outside the division - Detroit & Jax - no reason not to look at those as winnable. Minnesota are very much like Miami - good but not great, new coach coming in, could be a new QB in the works, even a major tear down. Pitt - won't be the same ole Steelers, good year to play them. Denver - again, new coach, possibly new QB / rebuild. Chicago - new coach and a 2nd year QB learning a new system.

Long way away but I'm not looking at that list of teams and thinking "we're doomed".
