Still better than anyone we've had since.

The Jets picked Pineiro off the street and he made all 8 of his attempts.

Would’ve made all of his XP’s as well if not for the one block.

The Adam Vinatieri’s and Justin Tucker’s are few and far between.

Devoting $4+ million a year to one of these dicks is a fools game.

We'll see if you feel that way when Pinero is asked to nail game winning 50+ yarders with the playoffs on the line lol.

It’s just as likely that McPherson is put in the same situation next week…and misses.

Nate Kaeding was probably only second to Vinatierie in the league before he sh*t his britches in the playoffs against us over a decade ago.

Guys like Scott Norwood and Doug Brien were reliable kickers before they ended up pooping their pantaloons when it mattered most.

These kickers can lose a round of Call of Duty the night before and it carries over to the next day.

They’re notoriously fickle and unreliable.

Robert Aguayo was considered the next phenom. The Bucs took him in the 2nd round, he sprayed diarrhea all over himself from the start, they continued to toil with a revolving door of kickers for another year or two, then they signed a decent (not great, at the time) kicker in Succop and they’ve been golden ever since. The same guy who is keeping last years Jets fan darling Jose Borregales confined to the practice squad.

Never pay big money for a kicker. Ever.

I would pay 20 mil any day for Justin Tucker.

You’d figure that Lance will be the SF starter next year and Jimmy G will be gone. Mostly because of the big package they gave up to trade up for him. Actually when Lance played this season he wasn’t bad at all. But Shanahan has gone with Jimmy all season including the playoffs. He obviously thinks that Jimmy gives them their best chance to win.

Well, not $20, but $6-8?

Sure

That’s because he’s bound to be fitted with a gold jacket eventually along with Vinatieri.

Morten Anderson, Adam Vinatieri, and Justin Tucker…

3 kickers in the history of football that were worth their salt longterm.

I still say roll with a camp competition of Pineiro vs Ammendola.

That's fine for now. But when the rest of the team starts winning, we will eventually need to have a big upgrade over the likes of those guys.

We’ll see

It’s not like Pineiro was poop before coming to the Jets. Guy had a nice rookie season in Chicago, then had a groin injury, got cut and made his way to the Jets where you really couldn’t have asked for much more.

If someone becomes available that is an obvious upgrade, then sure, make the move. Still have no idea who that would be.

But I’m sure as hell not using a draft pick on a kicker.

I still can’t believe they said Jimmy G’s coldest game was in college against South Dakota at 33 degrees.

That may be true, but its not like he never knew cold weather  He grew up and played HS ball in a suburb of Chicago.  He should be able to handle the cold.
