sec101row23
As of right now the Jets don’t have any picks in the 6th or 7th rounds, so I don’t think it’s wise to draft a kicker in the 5th.

Lith
Any idea how he has done in late, game on the line type situations? One reason I would much rather sign a proven FA, than trying to find a rookie -- either draftee or FA -- is at least with a vet, you know how he handles NFL pressure. So many college games are not nearly as tight as NFL games, I think drafting a college kicker is a crapshoot unless the guy has come through making multiple tough game winning kicks.
nycdan
I usually am perfectly fine with dropping a 7th (if we had one) on a kicker since I rarely expect it to yield any value at any other position. But it seems like a complete crapshoot as many of the better college kickers don't translate well to the NFL and more than a few of the best NFL kickers were UDFA. He definitely nailed a long game winner against OU a few years back (2018, I think) that got the infamous “Dicker the Kicker” call from Gus Johnson. mrcoops
I want us to draft the kicker that the Jets coached at the senior bowl, Mevis. The meltdown on the board when he holds of camp for a better contract would be epic.

TuscanyTile2
Or we can just sign Ray Finkle as a FA.
