Are the stars aligning for Sean Payton to the Jets?

If Woody wants to win over Jets fans he gets it done.

I’m assuming Payton is going to sit out this season. At that point the Jets can have both the GM and HC position available and give Sean full control.

Get ready for a lot of Sean Payton speculation  over the next 12 months.

I highly doubt the jets would be his pick if/when he comes back to coaching

Kind of like how sure we all were that Parcells, a better HC, would take over a 1 win Jets team.

‘Leaving a team he had just been to the SB with?

I've been clamoring for a "hot shot" head coach who was hired by his GM and not foisted on him like we have done so many times in the past. It's ride or die with JD and Saleh. The combo is not going anywhere, anytime soon. Sean Payton will be in his 60's by the time we find out the fate of JD and Saleh. Why would I want a guy who just retired to be the future of my team?

I’m pretty sure SP circled the Jets as his go-to team for 2023.

Again, if SP takes off two years and we are in the market for a new HC we should do anything we can to get him. If we aren’t in the market than the team is good and we won’t care.

Parcells was different. he was the only HC to love to change losing teams. he is the real GOAT. not Belichick.

he went to NE who was losing with Hugh Millen at QB.

he came here with Neil O donnell. and a 1-15 team

went to Dallas with Quincy Carter as his QB.

if Sean Payton wanted that he would have stayed in NO.

Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas aren't going anywhere.

The team is going to show progress next year and there won't be a discussion of replacing either.

yea, when they get to 6-11 next season, it will certainly be another party around here.

Sean Payton? The guy that buried a franchise in terrible contracts to squeeze the last bit of juice from the corpse of Brees all in a vein effort to remain relevant and then promptly bailing when realizing the situation is totally hopeless and the franchise has to cut everyone in preparation for a 5 year rebuild?

That Sean payton?

I can’t see how he doesn’t end up with the Giants.
