So the giants ownership are that utterly stupid as to call up belli and tell him who they are hiring before making a formal announcement?  I suppose anything is possible,

This seems a bit naive. It doesn't seem a stretch at all that Bellicick has friends in the Giants organization who know what's happening. I would add that it's very possible Ross dished some dirt to other owners about Flores and damaged his chances of getting another HC position. If we've learned anything over the years, with very few exceptions, NFL owners are thick as thieves. If Ross was pissed off at Flores, which seems validating by the way he fired him, he was very likely to whisper in a few ears. That may be at the crux of why Flores sued. He knew he was screwed out of the gate.

I dont find that odd at all.

These guys have all worked together in the past.

If the 49ers were hiring a hc, you think that there would be no chance saleh would know who was in the lead if he was good friends with the gm?

Like they might have played golf the week before. Their wives could be great friendS.

The 49ers have nothing to lose if Saleh knew the situation in confidence.

Ill bet mara and belly exchange memes via text for fun daily…maybe even porn

No that’s exactly what “the NFL is rigged”means.

😂🤣

If and when Brain exposes the evidence of his claims you will be 100% wrong and this will be another piece of the long list of things that proves how the nfl is rigged.

It actually isn’t, but the funny thing about your argument is that the Dolphins, in point of fact, did not tank in 2019. After starting 0-7, they won 5 of their last 9 games, including their last two.

It is interesting that Flores brought this action before all of the vacancies were filled.  He must have seen enough.  There are still plenty of openings left.

Yes, some of the hiring were curious over someone like Flores who appeared to be qualified and got initial interest.  A lawsuit like this does not get drafted overnight.  There must have been word out that Flores was looking to cause trouble.

Flores is alleging racism in hiring.  I don’t understand what alleging the $100K/QB tapering has to do with it. And then talking about how Elway was hungover is also just mean spirited and unnecessary.

I think in reality owners realized that Flores was a bit crazy and would not be a good HC hire.   The NFL needs more black HCs.  It will come with time.  But by bringing this suit and not continuing to coach, as a coordinator if necessary, Flores will likely not be a HC again.  that is a shame.

I'm not sure how any of what is reported in the Broncos' interview necessarily establishes that someone has to be lying. The Bronco executive team may have done a nice job of going through the motions and asking a bunch of questions while knowing full well they had no intention of hiring him. He may have sensed that from their apparent failure to show up on time and their demeanor in the interview. I've certainly been on both sides of that equation over the years. I was an executive involved in a lot of recruitment as well as having applied for positions. We would go by the book in interviews, with set questions for all candidates, scoring systems and the works, but in the end it was an enormously subjective process. Human nature.

PS, Those five executives are going to close ranks completely and validate each other. That too is human nature and practical ass covering.

Much of this is about perceptions, not hard facts. Which is why even if Flores believes in his gut that he got jacked, he will have a very hard time winning his case.

The Ross stuff is a different animal. I have to believe he has some way of proving that, If not, his lawyers know it's not going to be a good look for him.

Flores claims they were late. He claims they were unprepared. He claims they were out all night drinking.

the broncos say the meeting started Promptly at 7:30 AM. They said that they were five executives present. They said that notes were taken. They said that the meeting lasted 3 and a half hours.

someone is lying

What is his motive to harm the Giants?

Giants as collateral damage to get Flores ticked off and out Miami.  This is just wild speculation by the way lol.

Its possible that the broncos rubbed Him the wrong way.

Then he was treated very poorly by the Dolphins.

Bill Belichick’s stupid text mistake probably sent him over the edge.

so he embelishes his stories for revenge against all those he feels slighted by.

Trading away a top YOUNG LT and Safety and other key players for 1st and multiple picks, releasing high paid players etc that doesn’t smell like tanking to you? Did you not read the part where Flores said he declined the money and the owner was mad when they started to win?

Everyone in 2019 when Miami gutted the team: “Miami’s tanking for Tua”

JN posters in 2022: “Miami didn’t tank in 2019 they won 5 games after trading away all of the talent”

You can’t be serious with some of these post 😂🤣😂🤣

Two things.  I find it hard to believe that BB sent all those texts to Flores by accident.

I also find it hard to believe he sent all of those texts on purpose.

Confusing.

MIA does not HAVE it's own pick this year.  PHI does.  MIA has SF's pick.

So tanking would have accomplished absolutely nothing for them.

[edit: some folks were pointing towards this season, but apparently, while not specified in the reports I saw, this refers to a prior season.   my bad]

Bill is old but not dumb.  I just can’t fathom honestly how he would send that text message to Flores even though they have the same name especially when he’s interviewing for the same job.
My grandma wouldn’t make that mistake.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this leads to the Dolphins losing a draft pick AND the NFL finally implementing an NBA style draft lottery.

The Dolphins still could have ended up with Herbert after a bad tank.

Going into the season it was Tua, and not Burrow, who was thought to be the top QB.

This is bad for the NFL, but not hiring guys like Leftwich, Flores, Bowles, Bienemy so you can hire Hackett, McDaniels and Eberflus was going to push people over the edge.

Bowles and Flores actually won 10 games in the NFL.  Leftwich and Bienemy won Super Bowls.

Why was Flores a bit crazy? It’s the owners that are the crazy ones. Asking your HC to lose on purpose for money. Showing up drunk to interviews. Lol. You got it backwards my friend.

Yea, I think Flores will regret burning the bridges to his NFL coaching career. Unless he has a smoking gun we don’t know about (color me skeptical), the best he’ll do is get a nice settlement.

Then what? There were already a lot of reports out of Miami that he was hard to get along with and that people didn’t like him. You definitely have to wonder if this guy just has a massive chip on his shoulder.

Leftwich will definitely get his chance and I believe Bowles will get a second chance.  Bienemy is interesting.  He’s very successful as a coordinator but people says he’s a bad interviewer.

Keyshawn went on a rant the other day about so what if he’s a bad interviewer and I completely disagree.  If you can’t come into an interview with a proper plan and vision on how you are going to build the team and make it a winner why should any ownership take a chance and pay millions for that?  I’m not saying that’s what it is but it is what has been reported.

No, no, no. You seem confused. Let me help.

A team tanking for a better draft pick and the league being “rigged” or “fixed” aren’t the same thing. No one said anything about tanking in the other thread  - you were alleging that the games are “fixed” by the likes of organized crime or even the league itself. That is very different from a team tanking for a better draft pick.

Oh, btw: 🤪🤣 😛 - am I doing this right?

No let me help you: I said the mob was rigging games in the 70s.

a team tanking for draft picks = fixing games, period.

a league that has fixed games is rigged, period.

hope you understand this common sense now 👍
