Listening to the radio now, I think the Ronney rule requires 2 separate interviews.

Welcome to the real world where organizations/people have favorites in their hiring process, particularly as the process plays out, and not everything is "fair" (in ones eyes). You'd think none of us had lost out to another applicant who may have been:

• Related to an insider.
• A friend of an insider.
• A child of an insider.
• Sleeping with an insider
• Blew the hiring team out of the water with their interview.
• Pushed by admin for (insert bs reason here).

Just because you don't get a job it isn't automatically because of superficial reasons, and to brand an organization as racist won't help you now or in the future. Flores seemed like a good/really good coach. That doesn't mean the Giants had to hire him, and couldn't like another guy prior to interviewing Flores who may have just shot himself in the foot with other teams by initiating this lawsuit against the Giants. Sometimes life sucks. There are other applicants who didn't get the job too. What's their remedy? Why didn't they get the job?      

Also, it sounds like the NFL should strip Ross of his ownership (they won't), and penalize the **** out of the Dolphins. Flores should have just gone through the process as having won as a HC speaks for itself and found the right opportunity.

At least Daboll is a legit candidate.  It was the Joe Judge hire that made the Giants look like they would hire any white guy no matter how little experience he had.  Now we wait to see if HOU can one-up them by hiring McCown.

Keep in mind, no matter how bad this goes vs. the NFL, Colleges will still hire Flores, so it's not like he is REALLY killing his coaching career.  Only his NFL career.

This seems like a Flores issue based on the reports of him not talking to his position coaches towards the end of the season.

2 AFCE teams in recent years had a hiring process where the the outcome of their vaunted leave no stone unturned was.... hiring Adam Gase. So Dolphins may have a valid defense; they aren't racist, but totally incompetent.

Just heard the Giants statement--basically saying "FU Flores" we did everything right, interviewed a wide and diverse group of candidates and Flores was in the discussion down to the 11th hour between he and Daboll before they chose Daboll.  Confident that they fully complied.

I also think they should seriously consider a minority owned group to buy the Broncos. 

Having said that, if Peyton puts together a group it'd be hard to keep him out.

I think it makes these guys really question why they are even getting the chance in the first place. It has to be just a horrible feeling. This rule does so much damage it's not funny.

The Giants did everything right, except tell Bellichick that they were hiring Daboll before doing their round of token minority interviews.

Two very important but separate issues here:

- Race

And IMO the bigger issue (for the NFL) is tanking games to improve draft position. This is why the Jets always 'win' those end of season meaningless games.

NFL must severely punish Ross and the Dolphins.

Well obviously Mara didn’t want Flores, was it because the color of his skin? Who knows but I’d be surprised if Mara making decisions based on race. They had Jerry Reese as a longtime GM
