C Mart
Tom Pelissero The #Cardinals are hiring Matt Burke as their defensive line coach, per source. Burke -- the former #Dolphins DC -- spent last season with the #Jets in a game-management role. Brian Costello Burke was the voice in Robert Saleh’s ear last year on situations like fourth down, challenges, two-point conversions. Important role go fill on his staff. This would be considered a promotion. Furthermore, no. Beck never was considered a long term hire, nor was Cavanaugh. They were both considered short term/band aid replacements for the late Gregg Knapp. Beck makes a sh*t ton of money doing very little compared to a “on-team” QB Coach and Cavanaugh was more of a consultant, as he is 65 and not really interested in more work than that. 6

Cavanaugh signed only a 1 Year deal to help the Jets out in a pinch after the tragic loss Greg Knapp. He was a stop-gap measure and told the Jets so before he even came on. He did well for the Jets and we should all wish him well in his retirement. And that's what he is doing, retiring not high tailing it off to another team.
