I just put a small simulator in my garage.  Reality is I hit balls 3-4 times a week , rarely use the simulator.  You can feel if youre making contact. Im down to a 10, broke 80 3 times the last few times i played.  All just hitting my second shot better, many missed greens still but I’m closer. I get on and 2 putt.  I practice putting as well.  This is my grandson. He hits about 100 balls when he comes over. Loves it.

I almost put a GC Quad in my garage many times, but I need the space to store my vehicles over the winter.  If I had a taller basement ceiling  it would be done already.

There's a local place I go that has the GC Quads.  Imo, they are a really accurate indoor experience.  I hit the driving range for 30 minutes and then play 36 holes.  It's my usual  Saturday night.  I just haven't gone yet this winter.  Haven't touched my clubs since early November.

My monitor is $800.   The Garmin.   Just to work on ball control, execution. It’s NOT a real simulator.  I belong to a club so i play 2 a week……

Thanks.  It's been over a year.  Actually dreamt of my Mom & Dad at my old house last night, so it's weird that I mentioned him today.

Sorry Munch. This post touched my heart though.

I lost my mom about a 1 1/2 years ago, and I can’t tell you how often she’s in my dreams. I asked my sisters and dad if it happens with them, but I’m the only one.

My sisters say “you were always her favorite, guess you still are…”

Plus living vicariously through our kids. Two bros and 1 gf visiting our daughter who lives in Houston. Sending us pics so glad we’re not there to spoil their fun. But happy to see them all together eating, drinking, rock climbing. Glad the three of them are so close. They are having fun.

Have you ever checked to see if they have any sim leagues in your area? I’ve never done, but one of my buddies still works during the week, and he plays in one at the PGASS one night every week. He really enjoys it.

Touched me, too. Lost my Dad in 2020 and Mom in 2021. Dreams are part of it, but the impulse the call/speak to/meet remains. It’s a strange feeling.

My daughter and my niece sent me voice messages my mom left them on their phone. She was that person who could be hysterically funny, even when she wasn’t trying to be.
Both are long, rambling descriptions of either a Sunday dinner or family event they missed. Most people would wait until they actually got in touch with you, but my mom would go on and on with her voicemails.

If you ever watched Everyone Loves Raymond, my mom was a kinder, less grating version of Marie, but definitely that kind of mom. There were no filters, lol.

I treasure hearing her voice on those messages, but I still can’t make it all the way through either one without tearing up.

I have a 3 and a half year old and a 2 month old.... so very busy with a lack of sleep on the side.

I work in commercial leasing and recently tied my career to resurrecting a shopping center in Plano ... since the move 3 months ago I've leased 125K of "small shop" space, so it's going very well. I'm mostly  a zombie at the moment... an efficient corporate zombie.

But home life is busy and work life is busy.  I'm not lacking for things to do just lacking in hours in the day. 99% of my time being work and kids can be exhausting and the lack of downtime can be maddening but that's just the stage of life I'm in and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

They do, I've never joined though.

A usual winter for me consists of Saturday night sim sessions starting in January through whenever we can get outside.  I just put some ear buds in and play 2-3 rounds alone.  I play A LOT during the season.  Like 4-5 times a week.  I average over 100 rounds a year easily.  I live between Chicago and Milwaukee so our golf seasons are pretty short unless you are a diehard like me.

There's a few courses that are open year round so long as there's no snow on the ground.  I'm out there if it's over 20 degrees and single digit winds.  I walk and wear a coat between shots so the core temperature stays pretty high.  Unfortunately this year it snowed in November and never melted.

Sounds like a nice game… what do you guys play? Something like $2 and $4, or 1 and 5?
3 bills in 4 hours, the cards had to be falling right for you… ?

I play at the orange city poker room and casino. Today I was playing 1 - 2 no limit Holdem - $200 max buy in. Sometimes I play 2-5 nl $800 max buy in.  I been playing in Orange and Daytona for 20 years so I know most everybody up there - it’s always a good time. There was about 12 full poker tables going. Yeah I won a couple all ins one I had AA vs 10-10. Another we both boated but mine was the better boat. Always fun when u win. If I lost $300 I’d be pissed. But with 20 years of playing fairly consistently I’m a good player. I probably win 70 percent of my sessions.

My dad passed i was a teenager.. mom is 80.

Me too, hard growing up after 16 not having him to talk to. My condolences...  Keep up the breaking 80... It's so much fun being able to say I shot 7x... I remember the first time I shot my first round under 80. I was in my living room swinging my club and my wife came in and yelled at me I was going to put a hole in the rug. Something felt so nice with that swing though I didn't care. I proceeded to go out and shoot a 78, and never looked back. My best round is 72, par 71. Love playing here in the Chapel Hill area. There are a lot of nice golf courses, as I'm sure there are by Charlotte.

Booked our flights to Scotland and our first stay in Edinburg. The Scotsman Hotel just off the Royal Mile.

Tomorrow working on hotels or VRBOs in St Andrew and a round of golf at the old course.

The first time I went, I asked our caddy where they drink.

Stop for a dram at Dunvegan after your round. Thank me later.

I'm a member at Chapel Ridge / The Preserve at Lake Jordan.  It's also not pretentious but a beautiful course (Chapel Ridge) that is, I'm not a big fan of Lake Jordan course, but play there as well, to keep from getting bored. I play all over though. I love Mill Creek, Stoney Creek, and big fan of Grandover in Greensboro.

Cedarwood looks nice.
