OT: Juwan Howard Strikes Joe Krabbenhoft After Michigan-Wisconsin Game

Recommended Posts

5 games.  it's a harsh sentence, but seems appropriate.  sounds like the league allowed the schools to self-discipline and warde gave juwan 5 games.

not so surprisingly, wisconsin's AD decided not to suspend any of its own coaches or support staff for their roles in what happened.  not the assistant coach who pushed 2 michigan players and not the support staffer who body-slammed terrence williams.

williams got pushed (by an assistant coach), body-slammed (by a staffer) and cold-cocked (by a player) and he got suspended a game.  the player who cold cocked him only got 1 game.  neither of the other guys got squat.

juwan's response in yesterday's presser left a lot to be desired.  much stronger statement tonight

Remember that time Juwan Howard got the same amount of games for being angry as Rick Pitino got for buying escorts for recruits? Good times.

There’s an 82% chance Auburn will eventually have this entire season’s win total vacated because of some inevitable Bruce Pearl ****ery and it might not last two days on the ESPN scrolling ticker thing. But Juwan Howard’s slap, baby. A true Gomorrah moment for college hoops.

[It's the NFL offseason so posting in the main forum].

Did anyone see this?  Shouldn't the HC be setting the example for the players?  What an example to set!  Juwan Howard should be fired.

So should the Wisconsin HC for initiating this nonsense.

Disgusting how that poor, innocent family man was just minding his own business when savage, sneaky, crazed-man Juwan Howard jumped out from the shadows (like savage, sneaky crazed-men are wont to do) and pounced on him like a thief at an ATM.

Oh, wait, that's not how it went down? Weird.

Michigan basketball is going to be a national joke until the get rid of Juwan Howard. I hope the rest of the Big Ten coaches as well as the coaches of other conferences treat him like a pariah persona non grata and show him no respect on and off the court after his "goon" like behavior. That "apology" was well written...?

I really can’t stomach the “that guy should be fired” crowd that comes throwing their fists anytime something like this happens. It’s sports, players and coaches get heated.

The best part is, I could 100% guarantee that these same guys are bitching about cancel culture as recreation.

I’m surprised that anyone on this board isn’t numb to “that guy should be fired” rants. If you draft a certain position, you should be fired; if you sign a certain free agent, you should be fired. It is a part of this fan base.

Not a big deal. However in the era we now live in everyone on tv had to act outraged. Gio said best this morning on “Boomer and Gio.”

Im pretty sure Geo didnt say it was no big deal and its the we now live in to act outraged over inciting a brawl at the end of a college game.

If he did he's an idiot

I guess everyone missed the fact that Howard was trying to walk past the opposing Wisconsin coach until he was grabbed and stopped by the Wisconsin coach. But,,,,, nvmd!!

That was nothing. The guy probably wanted to say something to him. I'm sure it wasn't  him trying to be aggressive. Howard is like 3 times the guys size.

Wisconsin coach should not get off scot free in this. Howard was perfectly happy to walk right by him and just head the locker room. Wiscy coached grabbed Howard by the arm, pulled him back and started pointing and yelling at him.

Howard has to be able to control himself in that situation and should never ever swing at anyone....but this doesn't happen if the Wiscy coach didn't grab him to try and get in his face.

Both need to be suspended, not just Howard.

Wisc coach said he just wanted to explain why he called the TO and grabbed his forearm.  As for Gard pointing in Howards face didnt happen.  Getting in Howards face, it didnt happen.  It was the other way around, Howard pointing and getting in Gards face.

He was trying to explain why he took the timeout. They had their backups in and coaches like to give them real situational experience when they can. He wanted a reset on the 10 second clock (which you are granted after a timeout). I doubt he expected Howard to fly off the handle when trying to get his attention post game and I’m sure if he knew Howard was going to go ballistic he probably would have avoided him.

I watched, he did and he was right.

Then hes the idiot trying to stand out from the crowd.

If it escalated and spilled into more fists being thrown, into the stands or a player injured then what, still was nothing?  Hes the HC and is supposed to be developing kids into players and humans

None of that happened. But if you don't agree with JetNut, you're an idiot. I don't disparage people that way.

And yes, if Geo said it was no big deal hes an idiot.  Has nothing to do with disparaging someone for not agreeing, its a stupid comment.  Find a post, any post out of 35,000 posts where I call anyone an idiot who disagrees with me

I'd be more interested in Howard explaining why your starters are pressing walk ons with 14 sec left and down by 12.

Howard is LUCKY he didn't get fired and that has nothing to do with cancel culture. Anyone defending his behavior and trying to paint some scenario that Howard was justified in his reaction is a moron. Like Pac said, if this was a white coach swinging on a black coach we'd be seeing such a much different reaction by some of these same Howard apologist who are trying to justify Howard going after a "fat bald white guy" for touching his arm.

If you have a chance, and care to, watch or listen to the opening of Boomer and Gio from 2/21. He kind of expressed the same feelings I have. Not an exoneration of Howard, just that it’s not a huge an incident where everyone should be up in arms about it. Anyway we agree to disagree. I thought a 2 game suspension would have been sufficient. I do realize I am in the minority on this issue.
