Popular Post section314
Just now, Lith said: I think he would be a great fit in our offense. Reason #5,000 why it's nuts to invest big $ in a RB these days. The Zeke contract killed them.

Popular Post mrcoops
Signing Cooper as a a street FA would be an excellent get. And not just so I can have a custom jersey without having to pay to get my name on the back. 3 1
derp
Agree he'd be a great fit. I guess this is where back channel conversations about how they can acquire someone would be helpful. That contract is bad but reasonably short, controlled, and he's one of the best fits who's potentially on the table. It's probably a no go but there have to be conversations about whether it's worth making the Cowboys say no to one of the fifth rounders this year or a late 2023 selection to lock him up. Would obviously eat up some room but would be a big piece to have heading into FA. Easy call if they could restructure the deal too. If he hits FA the Jets should obviously get involved. 4
Popular Post TheNuuFaaolaExperience
You could roll the dice on one of the top WRs in the draft or know exactly what you are getting with Cooper. Do it. This would be money well spent in the name of finding out if Zach Wilson is the guy. 6
RVAJet815
Prime example of where you overpay. He's a great fit in this offense. Do it, Joe. 3
Popular Post BigRy56
Absolute no brainer move to go get Cooper… sign Cooper / Njoku, draft Ekwonu at 4, and watch this offense take off. Spend the rest of the FA money and draft capital on defense and offensive depth 5
Popular Post Chrebetfan80
i mean if JD can pull it off, it opens so much up for the offense and the draft. This would be a very big positive step to the offseason.

Popular Post HawkeyeJet
Also, if they are going to release him, if I’m JD I’d see if any sort of mid-late round pick would secure him rather than risk bidding in an open market. 16

If we can give the Boys a pick to prevent him from hitting the open market, we assume 3 years at $20M per, while Zach is on his rookie deal. And we can use our premium picks elsewhere. We need to try to find a way to get this done by trade. As long as he does not have a no trade in his contract. 9 2
CTJetsFan
As someone who has followed Cooper the last few years (due to FF), I'm lukewarm on spending big $ to bring him in. He can have some explosive games but always seems to be nicked up and can seem soft at times. Always questioned his desire to leave it out there and play thru stuff. However, his skills are better than anyone we have on the roster now and would free up picks to use at other positions.

Popular Post Jdub03
Trade a 5th for Amari, and grab another WR on Day 2. See if he'll restructure, if not no biggie. His dead cap hit is minimal in 2023 and 2024 if he doesn't pan out. He's a reliable target for Zach, and allows the rookie time to develop. Win win.
HighPitch
signing him would mean we can avoid taking a prime wr in the first....or second and grab a christian watson or maybe even a pickens. DO IT

Popular Post ZachEY
This feels like a no-brainer move. More flexibility in the draft if you don't think value is there for a WR at 4 or 10, and makes taking defense a little more tenable, if that's really the best value at the pick.

nj meadowlands
Jets need to be at the front of the line if Cooper is available. Him with Davis and Moore just seems like a really good complementary group of wideouts.

JoJoTownsell1
Where is that thread from a week ago talking about how the cap doesn't matter? Turns out that eventually there are ramifications for overpaying players and restructuring deals to future years. 1
