Official 2022 Free Agency Thread

Recommended Posts

I’ve been very critical of Connor Hughes, but to be fair he’s been absolute money on Jets targets this free agency period. The fact he’s saying he’d “honestly be very surprised” if the jets don’t get at least one of Gilmore/Williams leads me to believe at the very least Jets are super interested in both and are working on it

Connor Hughes essentially saying he’d be surprised if the Jets didn’t come away with one of Williams or Gilmore.

Williams is the prize but Douglas has a walk away price with every player and won’t sway away from that for anyone. Right now Williams price according to Hughes sources are between 17-20/year. If he’d drop that price to 15-16, he’s going to be a Jet.

So he won't be a Jet because someone will pay him what he wants.

Douglas and Saleh should be belted in the head with a tack hammer if the Jets have gone receiver-less heading into Round 2 and then take a DT.

The overwhelming assumption is that we’re adding an edgerusher with one of those Top 10 picks. Which most likely means a shift of JFM to the inside next to Q, Rankins still on the roster making $8 million and an athletic freak like Marshall going into his 2nd year.

Saleh can more than make due with that if he’s worth two wet sh*ts as a supposed “defensive guru”.

Interesting tidbit. I wonder where Fant and Becton land. Having Becton on the right side with a seasoned vet may be advantageous.

Sign Moses at RT and let Becton float like Fant’s old position.

That contract would be absolutely disgusting.

Browsing the boards, 49er and Bengals fans are mostly upset these players departed.   So that’s a good sign

When Lawson left the Bengals last season their subreddit was filled with guys saying they were done with the franchise lol. Hope they didn’t miss too much.

One has 4 career ints the other has 15.

This.  I can’t lie and say I love the idea of using premium assets or money on a Safety, but if you’re going to do it, it better be on one who can cover and get INTs, aka a FS.

Marcus Williams, supposedly, not being a mega-chode like Adams also helps his case.

why should a few million be a factor in not getting the player u want?
