I don't think the team is quite as high on MCII and Hall as people on this board. If Gardner is available, he's going to be a considerable upgrade over anyone the Jets have on the roster now (except for Reed).

I think you're wrong on this one.  Michael Carter had a hell of a year in the slot.  Hall and Carter will only get better with experience in the system.  I think the Jets are very happy with their development and I think bringing Reed in puts the nail in the coffin that they won't use a 1st on a CB.  Which, by the way, was never going to happen anyway b/c Saleh would not want to use a premium pick on a non premium position on their team.

Like Reed, I don’t know much about Whitehead! Fill me in!

 JORDAN WHITEHEAD

PFF Free Agency Rank: 70
2021 Snaps: 921
2021 PFF grade: 70.7 (28th of 94)

Whitehead played in Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl victory last year with a torn labrum in his shoulder, demonstrating how tough a player he is, which is exactly what teams need at the strong safety position. At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, his build and play style are somewhat reminiscent of Cincinnati Bengals strong safety Vonn Bell, who signed a three-year, $18 million contract with the Bengals prior to the 2020 season that could serve as something of a blueprint for a deal here.

Is it me or does Shenault seem like a better player than all the JAG WRs the Jags signed?

Agreed.  I'd rather have Shenault, Chark, and Marvin Jones than the guys (Kirk, Z Jones, Engram and maybe someone else)  they spent something like $200 million to sign.  Still, the "pundits" claim Jacksonville is "winning" free agency.  I don't see it.
