The point remains that Hughes or anyone else wasn't needed to refute this. It was never happening. The only scenario where a team trades a guy like Moore, who everyone knows we're high on internally, is if a Joe Burrow type QB is available and you need to package a deal. He's pretty much untradeable for now. Definitely a concern. I’m concerned about why he actually wants to leave SF as well. The Jets are coming off as desperate, which never bodes well in trade scenarios. You just hope Douglas doesn’t overcompensate for the 2020 disaster by bringing in a guy who’s just concerned about getting paid. On the flip side Moore living in the trainers room his rookie year is a major concern too.

You simply do not know Moore isn't part of any proposed deal JD would consider. And is one big name WR worth losing another WR (@ Pick #10), plus our best existing WR (Moore) and/or a number of picks where we could (in theory) get say, a LB, a Tackle and a DT or another Edge? Is that what THIS Jets team needs now, today? A big name WR and nothing much else outside our #1 pick at #4? Are we a Deeboo away from a Super Bowl run? We. Need. Players. Alot of players. We're not close, today, to being a contender. Deeboo doesn't change that. And if Zach doesn't take a literal HUGE stride, we won't be contenders in 2022 or 2023 either, Deeboo or no Deeboo. If we were a team with a Zach Wilson established as a top 10 NFL QB, and who won 11 games last year and just missed advancing to the AFCCG, sure, I'd be all over a Deeboo. That special piece to get us over the top perhaps. We are soooooooo not that team today. We are literally one of the worst, least talented teams in the NFL. We are what our record says we are, not what the optimists wish and dream we are. We're not a Deeboo away from anything. It's just not how I would team-build. It reeks of Dan Snyderism to me. But if that's what fans want, they're entitled to that. I just think it's a mistake. Moore is staying. 100%. No scenario involves him leaving. If Deebo Samuel joins our WR room it goes from mediocre to great. Davis goes from being a bad #1 to a very good #2, and so one. Our first four guys would all be on the high end of their respective roles and get better matchups all over the field. That is what a bonafide #1 WR will bring. Deebo is the best player in the league with the ball in his hands, to say he demands attention is an understatement. Having a guy like that makes everything easier for everyone. Next year should be make or break for Zach. If we get Deebo then there's no excuse for this not to be a good offence. If it isn't we don't f*ck around like we did with Darnold - We go again at QB. Not have another civil war between our fans over whether or not he had the "weaponz" - If Deebo comes in then the Jets have the pieces around the QB, probably the best pieces around a QB since 2009. 8

They made a legitimate offer for Hill. Miami effectively matched it. Nobody is claiming Miami overpaid. Beyond that, there are rumors the Jets expressed interest in other WRs but no deal has been made. If they were desperate, there would probably be a deal already. Lot of people have a thorn in their butts about JD here, but honestly, he has never 'overpaid' in a trade that I can recall. In fact, it usually goes the other way, if anything. We've seen him get draft value out of literal stones. So maybe a little faith that if a deal is made here, it's not going to be a disaster for the Jets is warranted?

Agree. Trading Moore defeats the purpose and makes no sense. The goal is to make the receiving group as a whole stronger. That would be a lateral move. 2

I’m really very surprised that you’d believe this Moore bull**** at all. There’s just no way he’s trading Moore as part of a package for Deebo. Really, the only true constant with Douglas since his arrival has been his ability to get value out of his trades. I agree that the compensation to the 49ers and Deebo are both major factors in how I’d feel about any deal, but I just don’t see JD offering to give up much more than the #10 pick. I don’t even know if Douglas is interested in spending that #10 on a WR in this draft. That could very well be part of why he’s been so aggressive in the trade market for the position. But Deebo would represent the bird in the hand to whatever the rookie might be this year. You like Wilson, word we’re hearing is that they love London. I like him, too, but he’s a 20 year old with questionable speed. He might not be too much of an impact player as a rookie. 3 minutes ago, Warfish said: And if Zach doesn't take a literal HUGE stride, we won't be contenders in 2022 or 2023 either, Deeboo or no Deeboo. This move would 100% be all about helping Zach Wilson to make that huge stride. That’s the only thing it’s about. I get your take because it’s usually where I firmly am on these sorts of trades, but on this one I can really understand the appeal. Again, largely because I’m not too concerned about Douglas getting robbed.

Teams are obviously going to see what they can get back, including Moore. The Adams trade skewed some things imo.

He has a knack for getting good value, and when he doesn't, he's really not giving up a lot. I trust that, should this deal get done, it'll be good value and he won't get "fleeced", and if it doesn't get done, I'll trust that it was because he would've had to give up too much to do it.
