This guy was an absolute horror show last season.

horrible signing.

You were definitely one of those guys that hated it when we signed Jason myers the year after he was terrible with the Jags.... and then one of those guys that cried when  we let him go.

Zeurlein has a big leg. No harm bringing him in to see if he cab recapture his pro bowl form

- Gross exaggeration.

- The job isn’t his, there will be a competition.

- The last time we took on an inconsistent Cowboys kicker with a big leg, it worked out pretty great.

Nothing but flawed logic here.

if you think dad wallet Douglas paid 2.75m for camp competition, I don’t know what to tell you.

Folk was also in a completely different age bracket.

would have loved to see Gay from Rams but not sure his status.

Not sure but most likely yes because we didn’t pay Folk who is still effective.

not sure if timelines line up.

Sure. The SB champ is letting their pro bowl kicker go.

Who would you sign genius?????  How about putting your money where your mouth is.  What kicker that is out there is your guy?

Bow down before the great and mighty JD defender.  Behold his ardor and faith.

Not saying you’re wrong but he made roughly 85% of his field goals last year. How bad was he? Can’t hurt to have a competition with Piniero.

He only missed one kick inside of 50. 17-18

I don't understand how some of you forget kickers season highly fluctuate. Every team picks up the guys off the trash cheap only for them to ball out  or let a guy who balled out this year go. Folk Meyers and a couple others were mentioned.

I for one like the signing and wish jacked up Amendola could kick past the 40, but him or master p could have an excellent season. Greg is my lock for winning the job.

How about answering the question?  How is signing a kicker for training camp competition a bad thing?  What is your plan for kicker?  What exactly is wrong with Amendola, Piniero, and Zeurlein in training camp?

He's been good in the past. Unless your Justin Tucker kickers are up and down. Even Nick Folk was out of the league for a while and kicking in that stupid alliance league whatever it was called. now he's with the pats and has barely missed a kick. The guy is worth having in camp for competition with Pinero. The best man wins

You and your clueless darksider buddies are all over the place.  If the Jets miss out on a free agent, JD didn't do enough.    If the Jets are not in the running for a free agent, JD is asleep.  If JD signs a free agent, it's the wrong guy. And then you make posts wondering why the Jets can't acquire every other team's best players when those players aren't even on the market.

Can’t wait until we find out Piniero is running a crack den/prostitution/human trafficking ring out of some disgusting Everglades marsh town like Gainesville and anti-Watson Jets fans are going to explain that he’s just a young, Latino entrepreneur trying to make it in a high-margin industry.

Gainesville is roughly 5 1/2 hours for the Everglades.

Career 82% FG, long of 61

Last year 82.9%, long of 56, 42/49 PAT could be better

a real pro kicker.

Very good signing,  IF the “ LEG” kicks to his career averages it will be his job and our place kicking issues are finally over

I also think Matt Ammendola has talent, so maybe he or Pineiro can be on the practice squad

Wasn't Ammendola the one who tackled the Kick Returner in the next to the last game at the end of 2020 that won the game for the Jets and denied the team the first pick in the 2021 Draft ? The pick that would have guaranteed Trevor Lawrence the consensus no 1 player in the draft.

THAT GUY !
