Zach Wilson’s short passes rating (Weeks 15-18)

Yes the last 4 weeks it appeared Zach fixed his major problem of whiffing and dirting the wide open easy throws.

let’s hope he steadily improves this off-season and has a very good year this year.

im hopeful but it’s gotta be automatic this year

Zach never had a problem with pure accuracy for anyone who was paying attention. We saw that in preseason when the dude was on point.

Zach had a problem with dealing with pressure/reading defences that forced him to rush his throws, which resulted in the sh*t we saw when defences turned on in the regular season. He seemed to settle in and the game slowed down for him by the end of the season which is positive. Hope that's the start of the trend for him.

Brett Ratliff never had a problem with accuracy in preseason either.

First impressions are everything for a lot of people, but yes, a number of us have pointed out that his short passing was appreciably better as the season progressed.

And it will probably get a lot better with the two new TE's and that should also help bring in the DB's shallow and improve the long passing game as well.

This thread with Fidelio only repping people just seems unfair

I’ll tell you why.
While this is nice to see - loved seeing him continue to progress to a point where he was top five over the last quarter of season at the thing he struggled with most early. but Zach still has a long way to go.

His talent is there, but things like this tend to over hype expectations. He will absolutely be better this year -it will be clear and obvious progress, but if people start expecting top 10 or as this shows top 5 play there’s going to be a lot of disappointment.

Zach’s still going to be a work on progress. By the end of next year I believe we will know we have our long awaited FQB, but there’s still going to be plenty of bumps in the road.

When will it be acceptable to expect him to play like the #2 overall pick?

it also shows how games are won.  we don't see the mad bombers of the past.  the nfl has become a league where short passes followed by yac is what is needed to win.  an 8 yard pass completion with a 75% pass rate is the same as a 6 yard run gain.  hard to ignore this kind of production.

Kind of a mixed bag, but certainly these guys are a nice target for him.

-Archie Manning

-Bert Jones

-Donovan McNab

Meh, but ok, maybe.

- RG III (could stay healthy)

-Mariota

-Webtz

-Trubinsky

* fact is Zach hasn’t played as well as anyone in the above list. Still time though.
