I think Hutchinson may actually improve as a pass rusher if they play him more in a 3 point stance. When you see him rush out of the 2 point stance, there are instances where he takes false steps, which hinder his get off.

Any time I watched michigan this year I thought they were fools for standing him up.  His get off is extremely less effective from a two point stand than a three.  I thought it was extremely obvious.

I’ve been pretty clear that I don’t want the OL, but AVT could potentially move out to RT, too. That could even be part of the reason they decided to announce that he was moving from left to right guard, start getting him accustomed to that side.

Still, taking a guard at #4 gives me a headache.

It would be the trifecta.  DT, Safety, and now Guard in the top-10.

At least we never drafted a Fullback in the 1st rou...

Shut your mouth Will. I don't wanna hear that.

If we go edge then WR, the way we order the CBs is pretty irrelevant. Regardless, there is nothing more meaningless than a report about "many inside the building." All that matters is the 1 in the building making the decision. You will routinely have "many" scouts liking a player that the GM doesn't want.

I guess AVT could move, but why would the Jets want to do that when he was excellent at LG last year? I just doesn't make sense to me.

Because if he can be just as good at RT he is more valuable and definitely more worthy of a 2nd contract.

But yes you are right....it is a gamble but if they feel confident in it why not? If it's not working they can always move him back to guard.

Haven't heard either of you speak about Jameson Williams.

Is that a thing if we don't trade for Deebo?

No inside info, but Williams odds been slashed quite a bit to be taken at 6. Still about 5/1 so far from certain, but it’s odd they’ve been slashed. Panthers would seem an odd spot unless they traded down.

Rich Cimini posted what he thinks the Jets top 10 draft board looks like. I agree with some of it. My breadcrumb reading…

  • DE Aidan Hutchinson is the top player on their final draft board
  • OT Ickey Ekwonu, CB Sauce Gardner, and DE Travon Walker make up 2-3-4 (not sure of the order)
  • DE Jermaine Johnson is likely 5th on their board.
  • WR Drake London, one of WR Garrett Wilson/Jameson Williams, CB Derek Stingley, DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, and OT Evan Neal likely round out 6 through 10 (not sure of order)

So if the draft goes walker/hutch/ekwonu, the jets are then taking gardener, and then either london or wilson?  No lines addressed in round 1?

Dreaming that Hutch at 4 dream

I wonder if London is closer to 6 or 10

I haven’t heard a thing on him either. I’ve heard about London and Watson directly from a Jets source. I’ve heard about Burks in round 2 from an agent source. I personally have a hard time believing their not high on Garrett Wilson (though not sourced). I would think Jameson Williams is more likely a trade-up scenario (also not sourced)
