### The Official Day Two Draft Day Discussion Thread ###

For our 2nd rounder, LB feels like the "responsible pick".  (And it feels like there are some real talents still available right now).  I wouldn't mind a trade-down though.

RB and TE can be gotten later on (and we need both).

I'd like for JD to also get us a developmental OL and another WR (I'm hoping for Wan'Dale due to Jif's hype about the guy).

Of course, if JD loves a player at 38 then just take the guy and don't look back.  I'm thinking maybe Watson or Skyy might be in play.  I think we still need more WR for Zach.

For all the talk about how "QBs will always be taken in round 1" and "we can trade down at #4 or #10 for a QB", there was only 1 taken last night and I think he was taken at pick #20 (Steelers/Pickett).

There are still a lot of veteran OT FAs. If the need arises, I could see us paying for relief there.

100% on the rest of you list. I’d add DL, as there are a few very good ones thru round 2.

Reality is BPA at this point. We can make use of anyone.

My thought is that the draftable tackle crop has dropped a few tiers and we could squeeze some picks out of an OL-needy team that doesn’t check for cholesterol levels.

I am hoping for RB on day two. Need some help for Michael Carter.

OL and TE would be nice depth.

What about Safety?

Definitely need a safety. Our safeties are below average.  RB would be nice, too. We also need a Mike LB.

10 possible names for round 2 from Connor Hughes:

Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
Travis Jones, DT, Connecticut
Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor
Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State
Logan Hall, DT, Houston
Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming
Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
Bernhard Raimann, OT/G, Central Michigan

I would love a LB, to eventually replace Mosley.  Would have no problem improving the safety group, taking a RB, DT, or double-dipping on WR. Lots of talent available to hit on any of those needs tonight.

This is an amazingly talented group of players.  I hope its Breece Hall but we are getting another stud day 1 starting here whomever we pick.

My goodness!!!!

So look who has the 1st pick today.

Not sure if he's TB's kind of QB, but could you imagine a better landing spot?  Sit one year behind Brady and get the keys to Dad's Ferrari the next...

I'd say Raimann as the swing/developmental OT, but he supposedly has some sort of medical condition.  If so, the Jets probably won't draft him since they didn't take Trey Smith last year before KC did in the 6th round following his fall in the draft.

JD might want to trade back to try to either pick up an additional pick or move up in the 3rd round.

Round one was a home run. Since I started that thread, I figured I would bless you with more good fortune.  :)

Having a blast in Las Vegas. Got into the Jets draft fan theater after standing outside for hours. Was on TV and they brought Jermaine Johnson down to meet the fans which was so cool.

Hoping for more good Jets news on Friday.

they were showing alot of Jets fan on TV. i was wondering if one of them was you .lol

And Kenny Walker - if we just wanted another immediate impact offensive player.

Could be our Nick Chubb/Dalvin Cook top-of-round-two stud RB.

Yes, we are 1 michael carter injury away from having the worst rb group in the nfl with Coleman/Johnson.

I want Breece hall but if Joe likes Walker, take him.

If he’s available, I think he’s going to be the pick. He’s a guy they coached (and loved) at the Senior Bowl, fits the kind of profile they’re looking for in terms of style and upside, and can slide right into Fatukasi’s role.

I would be surprised to see LB, even with Dean still there. RB is a very interesting debate, but more likely I think that happens on Day 3.

I have not done nearly as much digging this year as I have in the past, but here’s my shot at a Day 2-3 Jets mock draft…

TRADE: 2(38) to BAL for 2(45) and 4(119)
TRADE: 4(111) to CAR for 6(199) and 2023 4th

2(45) DT Travis Jones
3(101) OL Luke Goedeke
4(117) TE Jeremy Ruckert
4(119) S Alontae Taylor
5(146) RB Pierre Strong
6(199) OL Matt Waletzko

Please assure me they wouldn’t take Reinhardt, don’t want him.

I understand rbs are a bit devalued in this offense, but would you think there’s a chance they’re taking one tonight?

also, you think it’s likely they’re trading back in the 2nd?
