I've followed this team longer than you 62 years when the Titans were formed, indeed this is our best draft class. Hall has the elusiveness, balance and hands, patience reminiscent of Shady McCoy, Le'von Bell and Curtis Martin. Three great backs who put up a sh*tload of yards. The difference the three talented backs ran 4.5- 4.6. Hall who weighs 20 lbs more than Martin and McCoy runs 4.39. Ruckert has the best hands of any TE in the class and the frame to add weight for blocking and presents a huge downfield target. Popular Post Death2NE
Thought for sure I'd see a Ruckert thread in the draft forum but I didn't. When are you guys gonna enlighten us uninformed fans to why you're so high on this guy?I watched him as a freshman play with my little brother who a senior at Lindenhurst and as a 13 year old kid he dominated 17-18 year olds . Don’t let the recieving totals fool you , I don’t understand why he went to Ohio state but if he had gone to a more tight end friendly school he goes over McBride , great hands , will be a hard worker and good teammate , always will be where he’s supposed to , athletic even if he’s not super fast , willing blocker who will work on that and improve . I honestly see him as a slightly more athletic Dalton Schultz with better “big catch” ability . Let him work as the 3 TE until Conklin and uzomah are gone and/or injured and by year two or 3 he’ll be ready to be our go to tight end and be an above average top 10 tight end for this team for the next decade + … I couldn’t have dreamed a better draft than this the fact joe d got ruckert to cap off day 2 is surreal . These last two drafts are going to be the reason this team turns the corner and is in position to be very good for a long time . Get on board with the ruckert pick now (not saying you are not just saying in general) because you will definitely be apologizing in a year or two when he becomes our guy !Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

It's the perfect setup to take the pressure off Zach and allow him to develop without having to carry the team. Play action should be pretty fun! 2nd and 5 is a huge difference maker for a young QB(or any QB for that matter) We’ve been putting our young guys in a hole of 2nd and 9 or worse for far too long….establishing a dominant ground game and having a defense capable of getting the ball back are vastly underrated amongst the general fanbase and every bit as valuable as a great WR or blue chip LT…it’s smart team building 3

That’s exactly when he will be Most likely to do it all! Let’s hope Boss! 5

I would have drafted Ekonwu and flipped Becton for some picks. I feel like there are a lot more options at corner right now than there are tackles (despite the list of broken down JAGs that @slats and @Sperm Edwards keep peddling). And the rules have neutered corners anyway. You look at the playoff rosters from last year, and literally only one team had what you’d consider an “elite” corner (Ramsey), and he was probably the worst player on the field for them during their run. I agree with this, but what the jets have done is upgraded the skill positions on offense enough that it should make a big difference in aggregate. For the past decade, the jets typically fielded an offense that had bottom third rb, bottom third wrs and bottom third tes (not to mention crappy qbs). No matter how much you upgrade the OL that offense is still severely limited. Now, every guy the jets are throwing out there is arguably above average. The rbs are now above average if hall is the real deal. The wrs at a minimum have real nfl speed and hands finally (don’t love davis, but he can’t be as bad as last year can he - at a minimum he won’t get double teamed). The TEs are also legit. So now the rbs get more yards, there’s likely to be more open pass catchers and the OL’s job is easier in some regards. Wilson and hall bring major speed to the offense, and Ruckert and the TEs add both legit receiving options and also much better TE blocking. No more wesco BS. 2

I’m still buzzing from passing on Ekwonu. What a happy moment that was for me! The Jets drafted playmakers. The starting OL is fine. Free agency has OL available, however you choose to describe them. If they go OL and DT with these next two picks and go home, I’ll be good. All they really need is a backup right tackle, because both of their starters can play the left side. I stayed up for this pick. Was hoping for Jelani Woods, but was happy with Ruckert. The Jets needed weapinz badly, and added a new #1 WR and RB and created an NFL caliber TE room out of nothing. On this front, you and I want the same thing: no excuses for Zach. Mike LaFluer now has plenty of toys at his disposal to employ his creativity. I’m excited about it. On defense, they added a stud CB and highly regarded Edge (not my first choice, but can’t complain about where they got him) who’ll help them get off the field on third down. The team got a lot better this weekend in the ways they needed to get better. Flipping Becton for Ekwonu wouldn’t move the needle at all. Joe Douglas, instead, moved that needle quite a bit. We should thank him.
