Yeah, DJ had him as 2nd rounder in his first few top 150 rankings. I'm happy with this pick.

Wasn't on my radar per se, but a position choice I'm 100% behind.

This late in a draft, after doing 100 mocks, you kinda peg in on the guy the mocks say will be there (in my case that was Kellen Diesch at OT around now).

Because in most mocks Max Mitchell was already gone.  So good on us, we get a 'better" prospect at the spot (OT) I really wanted here.  Nice.

Mitchell was the highest-graded tackle in all of college football in 2021. He earned a 94.8 overall grade while playing right tackle for the Ragin' Cajuns after allowing only 13 pressures across 430 pass-blocking snaps.

Faalele doesn't seem like he would fit the ZBS too well so im not mad about BMore taking him. Big and powerful but not very mobile.  He would be a better fit in their gap scheme...

Don't know much about Mitchell but nice to hear he has great feet....better fit in the ZBS and hopefully can give us that swing tackle depth....

Ironically, I've been watching some of the Ragin Cajuns to understand Billy Napier's offense a little better and I can tell you they run the ball really well, lots of zone with big holes and you rarely saw their QB in distress.  Lots of play action and motions, so you assume they need athletic lineman.  fwiw.

After drafting several skill players earlier this draft, the Jets finally decided to help out quarterback Zach Wilson from a protection standpoint. Mitchell entered the draft as the 88th overall player on PFF’s big board and the 13th best tackle. Last season, he earned a very impressive 94.8 PFF grade.

I would've probably preferred a veteran tackle as insurance but if they're going to give Becton a shot Mitchell isn't bad. Wonder if they move down with this next one. I have a favorite I doubt they take.

It'd be wild if they're done this soon.
