jetstream23
I’m happy to say the roster is now at a point where fairly good players will have a hard time getting on the Practice Squad. That’s a good thing.
Popular Post Warfish
The Rebuild is over. This IS the rebuilt New York Jets. Any talk of "still rebuilding" should be banned at this stage. That, more than anything, is now clear. The entire roster (near enough) is in the JD Era as a JD acquisition. Now it's time to start putting that rebuilt roster to work! -------- Small extra note: xx - Lawrence Cager 6'5" 220 Georgia (TE/WR) May be an interesting guy in our depth at WR, given we are sorta small at WR. If a last-cuts battle came down to 6'5" 220 Cager vs, one of the depth mini-mites, I think I'd want to retain Cager just for that size/strength. Being led by Wilson/Moore/Berrios, Davis and Mims, we got "small/fast" covered, that extra "big" receiver could prove useful.
chrisfaceoff
Right now things look good on paper, and it’s hard to not be excited for the future. I absolutely love the 1-2 punch of Carter and Hall. That’s going to be so much fun to watch. curious to see if we make some more vet signings now, but love how aggressive Joe was this weekend. Now? I pray for health, the rookies and 2nd year players to hit the ground running, and looking forward to what’s to come this season. go jets
derp
Really the most obvious spot they would’ve needed depth is linebacker and it seems like despite what we think they mostly like the guys they have. Defensive tackle another, wonder if JFM will be playing there with the two edges. Safety they could’ve added but wasn’t necessary. Wonder if another corner besides Pinnock is moving there. Offensive line depth is okay but I would’ve liked a long term center prospect. Wonder if that’s a UDFA move. They could add a receiver too but don’t need to.

Larz
Nas and Sherwood benefiting from the investment year and actually being able to perform the hybrid role would be very welcomed lol

Very good observation on Cager…it would appear his easiest path to making the team would be at WR. Our LBs, or lack thereof, is still frightening….but they must have seen something in the guys we got. Or there will be UDFA or vet additions to come. We have ALOT of defensive linemen. Sarge4Tide
The 3 spots where the Jets might be able to land a decent undrafted free agent are: Linebacker - seems like the obvious choice - there's a spot to be won by somebody at LB (DeMarco Jackson, Appalachian State???) Quarterback - I know it sounds weird, but a talented QB could come in, serve a year on the Practice Squad and then compete for the backup spot in 2023 - might be an appealing sales pitch (EJ Perry, Brown??) Wide Receiver - The right player with the right skill set could come in and compete for a roster spot at WR or at least be certain of a practice squad spot (Bo Melton, Rutgers if he goes undrafted)

AlexVanDyke
When you look at the roster, it really makes sense that Douglas used some picks as currency to move abs get playmakers. We don’t need bodies anymore. Our depth is the best it’s ever been. what will be intersecting is there will be some unexpected guys that don’t make the final 53 bc we just have created too much depth. That’s a good thing. d line is an example; are we going to keep 11? If not there may some surprising cuts. No more room for DBs either. I guess OL can use a potential depth body abs LB maybe but I think they are high on the two guys they drafted last year.
nycdan
I think in light of Saleh's most recent PC, that we can move JFM inside between QW and Rankins. Thomas I'm still not sure about. I think Huff is safe because he is actually pretty good when he's on the field. Health is the concern with him.
