Popular Post jetstream23
The Jets have added on offense.... OG - Alijah Vera-Tucker, Laken Tomlinson TE - CJ Uzomah, Tyler Conklin, Jeremy Ruckert WR - Elijah Moore, Garrett Wilson RB - Michael Carter, Breece Hall That doesn't include Corey Davis who was signed a month before Zach was drafted. As the Jets head into month 13 of installing their new offensive system with 73% new starters since 2020, I am really impressed with how the Jets are doing everything they can to support their 2nd year QB. Last year they spent their first 4 picks on offense, this year they split their first 4 picks 50/50 between O and D. But, this 2022 Draft is the first time in the team's history that they have ever hit ALL 3 skill positions of WR, RB, TE within the first 3 rounds of a Draft. No clue if this thing will work, if LaFleur is truly the guy, if Zach is truly the guy, or how many of these young players actually work out (although I'd say AVT, Moore and Michael Carter all took "bust" off the table in their rookie years at a minimum). But if this doesn't work it won't be for a lack of competent trying by the front office IMO. The only things I could nitpick? I think they'd rather have a veteran WR than another rookie like Garrett Wilson as evidenced by attempted trades for Tyreek Hill and Deebo Samuel. But, quite honestly, Corey Davis should be the guy providing that veteran presence, and Moore is no longer a rookie. The only other area of concern to me on offense is that the OT group is not as solid as it was last year with Morgan Moses. That is something the Jets will have to manage and hope for a little luck. Bottom line - One thing JD has positioned the Jets for very clearly is trying to find out in this 2022 season whether Zach can be the guy. We really should know by the end of this season if we have someone on his way to being a Top 10 QB or if we'll be in the market again soon. That's important for a team to know. This offense is now very respectable from a talent standpoint and in his second year it's now on Zach to light these fireworks that JD has given him.
