I only count 16 on the offensive line not 17. Also 3+7++7+11+17=45 not 46. If there aren’t any more offensive linemen that number would only be 44 which would leave us at 91. Take away Clark who retired and that would drop it to 90, no cuts necessary unless we sign someone else.

Depending on how our young backup boundary corners play (ie Dunn, Hall, and Echols), I could see us trading one of those guys.

Team looks good though. Nothing new but DT, LB and S could use help. Depending on how ready Mitchell is to be the swing tackle, backup OT is a need as well.

 - QB room is set as opposed to last year when we were going into the season without a veteran.

- Nice to see the offensive line is starting to upgrade as evidenced by GVR hitting the road.

- Hope we come into the season with a better kicking game than last year.

- After Mayes injury, the safeties were not solid. Nice to see us starting with Whitehead and Joyner. I think Whitehead is going to be a fan favorite very quickly.

- Not only are the young corners better than last year, they are now backing up Reed and Sauce. Nice. Backfield is markedly better.

- For the LBs: QW, Sherwood, and Nas are more experienced.

- I think we might still be missing an interior d lineman who's a beast and a run stopper.

- Edge is deep.

- O line could be really good, or our pain point on offense.

- Assuming GW produces, receivers are going to be good.

- Finally, we have TEs.

- RBs are going to be fun.

The way I break down the roster; 3 specialists leaves 25 on O and 25 on D.

On O I see 3 qb, 5 rb , 3 TE, 5 wr  9 OL.  Could see one extra wr ans one less rb

On D I see 11 DLs, 5 LBs and 9 DBs.  That’s a lot of dls but a couple are quasi LBs.

Jets didn't resign Laurent Duvernay-Tardif ?

He was pretty solid, no?

Would love to see him back again if possible

We have a lot of depth at DE. I reckon JFM will play more inside.

Moore and Wilson are going to be fun to watch, along with everyone else. I’ve never been more excited about our offense than I am going into this season.

I think thats the trouble. The Jets can only keep so many D-linemen. Sure, they could use a run-stuffing NT but who do they cut to make room for another guy on the line? Do they let a solid backup edge rusher go?

I would hope the Jets sign Tardiff & they can release / possibly trade Erdoga.. not that I see a trade but hey JD got a 6th for Cashman.

I thought he was kind of unsure on whether he wanted to play football or be a Dr.

I think he had to go back to school since he wasn't practicing medicine for so long or he would lose his degree.

Or something like that.

Does our scheme use a fullback? If so, who is that exactly.  I think the decision at RB outside Of the top 2 will be interesting.

Bawden & sometimes Wesco

Between the Edge and Interior D positions, there are plenty of guys that can be upgraded. If you find a beast lineman, then no problem letting one of the 3rd stringers go. The issue is whether or not someone is available in the offseason.

It's nice to see the line and edge upgraded though.

He did.  But under Canadian regulations, upon graduation from a medical school, you must (and I can't remember the full details) either be practicing by a certain time or have put in your residency by a certain time or you have to begin the process all over again.

I'm thinking that it probably isn't worth it to start your entire medical education over so you can block 300 pound lineman.

Two draft picks from 2020 will have an uphill battle to make the team:

Perine

Zuniga

Davis is close to being a bubble player, but given the thinness at the safety position group he will likely stick if he shows improvement in tracking/ tackling ball carriers… maybe more of a box safety guy.

LDT was slightly overrated.  He stabilized the line bc he didn’t screw up in egregious ways like Van Roten.  His PFF grades weren’t any better than GVR, even though the eye test says he was an improvement.  Laken and Herbig is improvement over LDT.

LDT did love playing here snit unfortunately he may not have a spot unless injuries hit…
