No but I also think it's bad business to exclude New York teams from national broadcasts

I’ll take week 1 prime time literally against anyone else in the league I’d just rather this team with many new pieces get a couple games under their belt before one of the best defensive minds in the history of the game gets us before they’ve ever played together Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app Understand your point…and it was intentionally a bit hyperbolic but you know what I’m saying. Set the tone for the season by winning a game in division. Again, talent wise, I don’t see why we’re all shaking at the thought of playing New England. You want to convince me it’s not the SOJ, go win the damn game.

IndianaJet
Sunday Night Openers since 2015... 2015: Giants @ Cowboys 2016: Pats @ Cardinals 2017: Giants @ Cowboys 2018: Chicago @ Greenbay 2019: Steelers @ Pats 2020: Cowboys @ Rams (opening of SoFi) 2021: Bears @ Rams (opening of SoFi with fans) I could see them scheduling Pats @ Jets with the 9/11 story line....the matchups in the past haven't been that great. The Week 1 SNF matchup is usually one of the most marquee games of the season. The Jets haven't been on SNF since 2011. We're gonna get it... Why? Because it's the *checks notes* 21st anniversary of 9/11? No way. I'd love to know how many games have been played on 9/11 over the last 20 years. Gotta think maybe 4? It's not crazy to think we'd get a crack at it. - NFL loves pushing the military....we are the Jets - NY Team vs the Patriots - Marquee division matchup - Robert Saleh's brother being in the towers before they fell - Fireman Ed - hype for sophomore QBs - Jets coming off an awesome draft/offseason If there was ever a time for this game to be played, it would be now

We got waxed by KC at Arrowhead. No tribute or mention of 9/11. 2011 season was the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 -- we opened on SNF against the Cowboys. One of the great season openers in Jets history. Obviously 9/11 went into planning for this one (Giants played Redskins, another 9/11 impacted team) 2016 season opener was 9/11 -- lost last second heartbreaker to Bengals. No tribute or mention of 9/11. This year feels a lot more like 2005 and 2016 to me -- both in the sense that we suck and it's not a special anniversary.
