Rumor: Deshaun Watson 3-4 week suspension

Why? These allegations come from ladies all being represented by the same lawyer. Doesn’t that raise a bit of a doubt? Watson already has been cleared criminally. Civil judgement has a lower threshold of culpability so that still remains to be sorted out. Also let’s see how the NFL investigation concludes. Certainly where there is smoke there is fire but there also should be some presumption of innocence until proven otherwise.

Some think he has to prove his innocence

I think the fact they are all represented by the same lawyer raises doubt.  Doesn't change the fact that you can't defend him.  When you seek out massage therapists in the way he does as a professional athlete, it immediately raises red flags.

I'm not a pro athlete obviously but I can imagine that once one finds a massage therapist they like and are comfortable with that they stick with them.  Let alone the fact that I'm sure the team provides them.  Deshaun just needed to hit up instagram girls I guess to find his perfect one.

Props to Vrentas for being literally the only person attempting to do journalism with this story. Implicates the Texans, too. This is probably the end for Watson, at least for the year.

Breaking News: Professional organizations enable sexual misconduct by men in positions of power. I mean wow who woulda thought Tom.

Got out over the skis on this one. Impossibly shameful by me. Gonna suspend myself for a year and do some reflecting.

If he really sought out 66 different women for "massages" in a span of 17 months, that alone speaks for itself.

The idea that a multimillionaire is seeking out massages from nobody's on instagram speaks for itself.

It'd be the equivalent of him wanting a car and buying a KIA on eBay Motors.

There is always a dehumanizing element to this stuff that's so horrible, but in this instance it happened in such a large degree of bulk...I dunno. Some scary and dark sh*t man.

lots of things in that Times investigation I was unaware of.   The NFL and Goodell are f'cked no matter what they do. ANything less than a 1 year or "indefinite" suspension will put Goodell right back on the hot seat.

This entire thing is eff-ed up, from Watson's insatiable predatory behavior to his sleazy lawyer Hardin to how Goodell has sat on his hands.

Simply put, if Watson wanted hookers, he could have....hired hookers.

Or thrown round the clock parties at his place with models, strippers, or whatever.

He apparently derives some kind of f--ed up enjoyment out of luring unsuspecting women into these sorts of intimidating situations and getting them to do what he wants whether they like it or not.

^ spot on

Not an expert in this specific area, but my understanding is that sexual predators generally function on the dehumanization of their prey.

It's just mind boggling that anyone would look at these circumstances and come away with the notion that Deshaun Watson was just innocently looking for a massage.

Look, isn't it possible that Watson only ever got sexual with the women who were willing (or at least too scared to be vocally unwilling) and that these 24 accusers are all just lying and he never did anything remotely sexual with them? Pure coincidence, really, that they sued a guy who goes into other massages looking for sex, when he clearly didn't do anything like that to them. Sad.

I never imagined it could be this egregious.

The initial 22 number now sounds like more of an underestimate, instead of an overestimate.

Seeking out 66 different women in 17 months? As you say, why not just hire hookers? There are plenty of escort services our there. Watson's purported behavior is indicative of a sexual predator. It's hard to come to any other conclusion.

Goodell sat on his hands because the media didn't pressure him until the past month they decide to protect Watson over believe all women which they have decided to flip on over the past month. If this was Josh Allen ESPN would have done 30 daily segments flipping out on this for a year straight.

As with many similar slogans/ideas, it is used far more frequently as a boogie man than by the supposed originators.

Yeah the point is Goodell reacts to the public and media pressure and there hasn't been any over the past year which is why he's done nothing and Cleveland felt comfortable trading for him.

It's par for the course. Goodell has handled anything dealing with sexual assault and domestic violence absolutely horribly since he first got the gig. Anything that has to do with women he's a joke. Rice, Winston, and especially Josh Brown...etc. It's a long list at this point.

Oh I agree 100 percent Goodell is a joke and most CEO's of billion dollar corporations don't care about any of this stuff they are just reacting to the public and media pressure ....I'm just pointing out that the media barely covered the story for a year or at least decided it was now all off a sudden innocent until proven guilty....in a case with 24 allegations that seems pretty cut and dry.

Some of the comments in this thread make me wonder if people are really this naive.  Do people not realize that happy ending massages are fairly commonplace?  These types of massage parlors are everywhere.  We probably have 10 within a 10 minute driving radius, and they are in every big city and numerous small towns.  There are numerous websites where women advertise these services outside of these establishments and where visitors review them.  I know because I mistakenly visited one, when looking for a legitimate massage, and found the rabbit hole.

Besides, how can the league look down on this when Bob Kraft was caught doing the same exact thing.

If someone needs to explain to you the difference between going to a happy ending massage parlor —where two consenting adults are transacting for that sort of activity — and throwing yourself at (read: assaulting) a professional, athletic massage physical therapist who wants no part of it, you are truly too stupid to post here and i hope the mods figure that out soon.

Continues to amaze how so many know the intimate details of what happened here.  Maybe these women were all legitimate masseuses who Watson assaulted. It’s certainly possible.  I don’t know.  If he did , I hope he goes to jail for a long time.   Or maybe SOME put out ads on Craigslist (or whatever) that were provocative and were selling extras.  It certainly possible.  I DONT KNOW.   Maybe they are all telling the truth.  Maybe there are half-truths.  Maybe Watson is the liar. I don’t know.  So unless you have more inside information, it’s really hard to get a handle on what really happened here. If anyone has this information, please provide.  Thanks in advance

Pretty sure he wasn’t saying that.
