Rumor: Deshaun Watson 3-4 week suspension

You're correct he was charged with soliciting a prostitute.  The place he went to was being investigated as a sex trafficing ring.  He was criminally charged although the charges were dropped.  There is no doubt he was soliciting prostitutes.   There wasn't mention of minors involved.

They did, however, deport several of the women who worked there.

Right - agreed.

Soliciting a minor would be a game-changer

The NFL is in bed with the biggest gambling operations in the world.  Bob Kraft solicited minors.  Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones used their employees as private call girls for corporate sponsors.

I don't believe the NFL has any business in the ethics and morality businesss.   The whole conduct detrimental to the game concept went out the window when they opened up in Vegas and got in bed with the gaming community.

Leave it to criminal and civil litigation.  Watson will go down eventually in the appropriate venue.  The NFL isn't the appropriate venue.

So you don't think that taking no action sends a message that his behavior is somehow OK. And what others did, worse or not has no bearing on what should happen to Watson. It is not surprising that nothing is really happening to Watson but unlike you it should and the NFL should uphold some basic moral standards for players. I also HATE the close coupling of gambling with the NFL. They should be at most tolerant of it but not promoting it.

I think it's more a stain on the NFL shield thing ... he should get a season ban ... will probably get 6-8 games ... he didnt kill/rape/beat anyone ... hes basically a 'John' looking for a rub n tug.

If there were assault I'd feel a lot different.

How is forcing a girl to touch your junk not assault? I mean if he was just asking and then if they said no, that would be a horse of a slightly different color but he was not looking for sex he was looking for dominance. Just my opinion.

Just watched the Deshaun Watson HBO special.  That man shouldn’t be playing in the NFL.  Period.

Watson to a crying massage therapist:

“I know you have a career to protect, and I know you don’t want anyone messing with it. Just like I don’t want anyone messing with mine.”

What level of proof do you feel the league should need to punish Watson? Criminal level proof in these types of cases is extremely difficult to put together without DNA evidence. If a civil jury finds him guilty, you don’t think the league should get involved? I would have to strongly disagree there. The nature of the offenses, the number of the accusers, and the female problems the league has recently had to endure all would point to a rather significant suspension, IMHO. A slap on the wrist would be a bad look, even though it won’t effect Watson monetarily one little bit. What’s half a million when you have 230 of them fully guaranteed?

The best evidence they have on Watson is a screenshot from a text conversation in which Watson asks if a masseuse “focuses on the glute area”

There is no proof here.  Not beyond a reasonable doubt or even preponderance of the evidence not even close.  He shouldn’t be suspended.  This is the dumbest thing ever.

Good luck only suspending this guy 4 games. There will be outrage.

If he gets suspended less than 4 games there will be outrage from Jets fans.

wondering if it was brought up that Solis was ready to sign an NDA for $100k, as per Buzbee. These women should sue Buzbee for malpractice.

We made a legit demand. You rejected it. We won’t be making another or bid against ourselves. We also won’t be having an extended dialogue about why you think your client did nothing wrong or how you want this to be a “learning” experience for your “high profile athlete,” as you refer to him. This is Houston, Texas. Perhaps you should find him a lawyer here so you can apprise both you and your client of the landscape here and who you are dealing with. Talk soon.

Imagine a state where cops in body armor aren't expected to put themselves in harm's way when children are being shot but god help the lawyer who fails to maximize his client's whackoff money.

Amazing how many people know the intimate details of what happened.  We do know 2 grand juries actually heard  the evidence and declined to indict.  But keep watching one-sided TV shows

Hey I haven't been following this, can you explain this?

I heard there was a new charge today, is that true?

The NFL has thrown in with the gambling community.   Michael Corleone would be proud that the front for prostitution, extortion and drugs is now an official NFL sponsors.   The NFL is about protecting the owners and making money by any means necessary.

If Watson is a predator and a danger to the community he should be locked up.  The NFL is slapping him on the wrist to protect it's image has zero to do with morality.

Do you really believe a couple of bucks either way for Watson or a billion dollar corporation is going to stop sexual predators?    Most women have been assaulted.  I know that's a dirty little secret that nobody wants to confront.   This doesn't change a thing even on the margin unless Watson is handcuffed and put away.    If he is that takes one predator off the streets and still doesn't change societal morality about sexual assault.

The NFL doing nothing is  not a wrong.   The NFL isn't in the business of protecting society against sexual predators.   If it makes you feel good watching NFL games if they punish Watson that's about you not about women who are assaulted.

Sort of a bizarre take. It is not about protecting society it is about drawing a line on the types of behavior that are acceptable and that the NFL projects as acceptable.

As I said the NFL isn't capable of drawing that line.  It's an entirely self serving curropt organization deviod of morality.    I find it bizzare that you think the NFL should be looked at as a place to draw lines.

FYI I will still watch a Harvey Weinstein or Woody Allen film if I want to.  I don't change the station if a Michael Jackson song comes on.  If there was nothing better on and an old Bill Cosby show came on I would watch it.

This hasn't played out and just because I think he did something doesn't mean Rodger Goddell should reprsent my outrage.  Rodger Goddell is not an arbitor of societal morality.  His job is to protect the owners.
