That was my second car.  Blue.  Bought it in 1990 and sold in 1991 when I left for the army.

First car was a 1979 Caprice Classic.  sh*t brown.  Got it in 1990 for $500 from the guy across the street.  My father eventually took it away from me about 6 months later and gave it to my loser older brother.  He need transportation to a job he never went to.

Looked like this:

or worse, a Pacer wagon?

OMG. One of my college roommates had one - a new one his parents bought him. 1976 or so? The sedan, not the wagon.

I have never, before or since, seen so much money poured into a single vehicle with the possible exception of my attempted restoration project of a '73 Datsun 240Z (which my friends nicknamed the Snowmobile - white, like a cocaine habit, but more expensive. When I donated that to the fire department for a tax donation, I asked and they promised me to burn it and crush it - leaving the order up to them.)

1979 G20 3/4 ton Chevy Van.

Mine was all brown and rusted because it was used as an xray chemical transport vehicle.

Got about 8 miles to the gallon LMAO

HA! That brought back a memory. A high school buddy of mine was driving one of those (after we had all graduated) in the early '80's near Tarrytown, on a freezing night on snowy roads, when the passenger sliding door just fell off into the road as we were going down the street. No road bump, no braking, just ... fell off.

Ha Mine wouldve if I didnt do some creative bodywork before getting it on the road!

I even had a urine tube in one of the rust holes in back corner so we could relieve ourselves while travelling. Ahh those were the days.

When I got out of the Army and moved to DC in 1996, I needed a car to get around. Found a guy selling his hobby car for $400.

I was 6'2 220 lbs, but man I loved that car.  1971 MG Midget, Orange...
