Darron Lee makes appearance at OTAs

In theory, what Lee was supposed to be is where the NFL has ended up at LB.

Turns out he just stunk.

Precisely.  And it also doesn't require the # 20 overall pick to find guys who are elite at that skillset, either.

And even if you DID need a pick that high to find one, that Jets team was in no position to be the ones to make a pick like that (yes, they were coming off a 10-6 season, but the team was clearly old at several premium positions and had lost several key pieces - like Brick, Demario Davis, Cromartie, Pace, etc).  So just a horrible pick in every way.

Thanks Macc.

At least those guys were late rounders, not a # 20 overall pick.

After these last few years with tons of great draft picks plus multiple high 1st round picks, it's all crashing back down on us.....back to just one pick in the 20 range. Lets hope Joe Douglas (and company) do better than Darron Lee, a tiny linebacker who just couldn't line back.,

Darron Lees career will be better than Nasirildeen and Sherwoods. So we've got that going for us.

yeah those guys were terrible 1st round picks too.

Calvin Pryor and then Lee.

A man who was drafted off of literally 3 big hits on his college tape in a league where you're not allowed to hit anymore, and a random tweener who played limited snaps on a stacked OSU defense.

The Jets were really on a roll with Idzik and Maccagnan.

Tannenbaum left with a bang with Kyle Wilson, too.

“It’s obvious to me that the Jets just don’t understand what the draft is all about.”

Let's trigger some people up in this place!

First 2 years:

Darron Lee - 1898 snaps over 28 games.

Mekhi Becton - 733 snaps over 15 games.

Both with 8 career penalties.

😂😂😂

Fire Elmo GIF

Moore rookie season snap count 447

Come to me for more useless stats.

You have a point, but context matters!  Mims was competing with just Breshad Perriman for snaps.  Moore was competing with a bunch of different guys (both on the outside and in the slot) in a more complex system for WRs.

Context only matters when it supports your theory.

What's not to understand?  You took a joke thread and tried to make it all serious in defending Lee's diminutive build.

Sorry, it wasn’t funny so i didn’t know it was a joke.  I didn’t know i could only respond in the way the opening poster requests.

Then surely you can reframe the argument with a retort of your own?  Because otherwise what you just said here is a bit of a cop-out.

I just wanted to make a funny thread poking fun of Lee's height but it morphed into something else.  Lame!

Maybe @Bronx was right and JN is indeed dying a slow death.  :(
