We're on life support?  sh*t.  Max better sell out quick before scout.com pulls their offer!

Does this mean the JetNation outing is a scam & @Maxman is looking to run off with our heard earned money?

And it's selective

Sent from the NY Jets /Zack Wilson Suicide Watch desk.

I would never have known.  Any prominent examples?  Someone I might know?

I don't think so, besides, I never done anything to you or even argued. We should lay it to rest.

I honestly think if JA didn’t force his way out, JD would have traded him anyway. He was more valuable the way JD wanted to build the team as a trade chip IMO

At the time he was pushing for $20MM/year or more (iirc he felt he should be paid as one of the NFL’s top 5 defenders, not merely one of the top 5 safeties or even the top 1).

Once he opened that door by saying he’d be willing to play for someone else for less for the year - probably not meaning it, and definitely not on his agent’s script - he made it easier to find a trade partner. I’m still surprised at how much Seattle gave up; Douglas must’ve convinced them he had just-below that on the table, like Jerry Jones was going to give up half his gorgeous stadium or something, so good on him.

Hard to say what would’ve happened if Adams was quieter (or just quiet) about his contract. Could be if he hadn’t traded Adams by the trade deadline, and then Saleh was hired before any transaction, that Adams would still be on the Jets now. My guess is Douglas still wouldn’t have wanted to start a rebuild with a mega-expensive safety (and forgo the picks he could get for him in the process), but we’ll never know.
