I usually say 10 wins in this type of thread, but I'm not feeling it this year. I think Zack has an improved season, but I feel the D loses us some winnable games.

6 wins and a tie, probably at Buffalo

The ESPN "Jets will win 3 games" thread reminded me that we haven't had a "Predict the Record" thread yet, and we're right about where the first of these gets posted, time wise.

Yes, surely there will be another about 3/4 of the way through pre-season, and no, no ones money or life is on the line by replying, so don;t take it so seriously or get mad the thread exists ffs.  You know who you are if this sounds like you....

So here is the schedule for your use in making your early predictions, so copy-paste and give us your wins/losses as you see them, knowing what we know to this point (pre-pre-season).

I have been thinking 6-7

We may get to 8 with some football luck

Well, I originally had the Browns down for a loss….. now I’m thinking there’s a game we can steal if we can hold  Chubb & Hunt to under 100 combined all-purpose yards.

Very tough schedule ( not exactly a news flash- yes I know). I’ll go 6-7 wins, but hopefully in most games and look like a prepared football team.

Here is how it goes.  And you can hold me to it, because I am right :-)

If Wilson's statistics are between the 1st and 10th rated QB in the league, the Jets will win 10 games.

If Wilsons statistics are between 11th and 19h rated QB's in the league, the Jets will win 6 to 9 games

If Wilson's statistics are 20th or below rated QB's in the league, the Jets will win 5 or less games and they will draft a QB with their first overall pick in 2023.

I done said it before, I gonna say it again

This season is ALL riding on Wilson.  He's the pinch point.

And I'll be happy to start us off:

9-8 finish.

Split with NE and Miami, drop both to Buffalo within the Division.

Split in Conference, taking the Watson-less Browns, the down/rebuilding Steelers, and the Lawrence-led Jags in Conference.  Lose to the Ravens, Bengals, Broncos, but the Broncos will be closer than folks think.

NFC games also a mixed bag, beating Kirk Cousins and the Vikings and the QB-uncertain-maybe-Geno-led Seahawks and Da Bares and Fields.

But even diminished, the Pack stomps us at Green Bay.

Could see a few games going either way (Steelers because history, Denver because over-rated IMO, Vikings because Zach isn't Cousins yet, Seahawks if not Geno maybe).

But I'm clearly either more optimistic, or more demanding, than many.  Young, Zach, or no, I think we're much better this year.

3 wins, a la ESPN's writers take, and this who regime is gone.  And I just don't see that happening.

Same. 9-8 finish with those exact wins. Now, this is assuming nothing terrible happens for the jets like a devastating injury(s), and things, for the most part, go their way- or as expected. Certainly more of a best case scenario. I just don't see any more wins they can squeeze out unless the Pats happen to have a collapse/rebuild type year and the Jets sweep them.

I think you can swap some of those division wins between the Pats and Fins, we may not win both home games, maybe we steal one on the road, like the game coming off our BYE after a tough loss at home to the Bills? But any way you slice it I have the Jets splitting with the Pats and Fins and getting swept by the Bills.

I think the games that can really go either way are the Vikings, Steelers and Browns.  I have the Jets beating all three of them but these are all going to be really tough road games.

Pre-training camp, my guess is between 8-10 wins. Meaningful games in December.

Heck about December , how about meaningful  games in October .    The Jets last couple of years  the season was over by October .    There is no pressure on the Jets being a playoff team this year, but there is pressure that they get off to way better  start.    Show the organization heading in the right direction.

9-8. Bold/Dark means "highly likely", light color means "close game, could see it go either way". If they win all the games marked close, they'd be 13-4. If they lost them all, they'd be 5-12. So that's the range for them, to me.

So, uh... I feel pretty good about this so far. Would probably shift both this week's game & Seattle to light green, but that's an 11-6/12-5 type season right now with those shifts

They are definitely better than I thought.

Rookies came along faster and the coaching has been better than I ever expected.

I am so hippy it looks like I was wrong.
