Could be.

it just seems like Wilson is getting less passes than other QBs around the league, which just annoys me.

For sure bro.  I think you and I have been lock step in this concern.

I was pretty shocked Saleh threw that number out cause we're sure not getting that from people reporting TC.

Came here to post the same.  Not a lot of fight from Smith there.  Corey Davis or Garrett Wilson probably come down with that ball.  Shoot, maybe even Mims.

INTs aren’t great, but thankful it wasn’t a bad read, badly thrown ball in the flat that was jumped by a missed defender, or anything like that.

that's one that Davis should come down with or at least break it up, but he would probably have the same result as Smith here most of the times. Thats what he does...

I have no idea what anything means after the stars and OK.

Good to see Ham on the star list.  He could be huge help with his versatility.

Eh…maybe, but Smith makes a slight hesitation and adjusts incorrectly, which allows Hall to recover and pluck it from him at shoulder level.  The correct move by the WR (at least going by how they’re coached) would be to go back shoulder or turn back, go up, and attack the ball.  Smith tries to Willy Mays it with a basket catch which does nothing but make it harder for a WR to catch a contested ball.

Eh. Best case scenario on a throw that bad is the receiver hams it up and draws a DPI.

Lol what's wrong with this statement? Too much sass for ya?

It just sounds dumb. It makes me think hes a headcase or just plain stupid. He is not “on top” but on the bottom. He is having a decent camp at best and he make an arrogant claim suggesting he is fantastic but he has no control over the brass making wrong choices

Again that's not  what happened

Reporters "where do you see yourself in this offense" - on top (which he clarified to mean starting receiver, he has worked his tail off

Reporters "what happens if you're not starting receiver (essentially back up)  and you have to play special teams - "is up to them if they don't want to play me"

Don't want to play me was 100% in the context of being wr1, 2  3....

Ok that does make a difference thx

What if Becton, Mims and Zuniga all ball out this year w/ Hall already balling out, that suddenly would look like a great draft possibly putting Joe D in for contention of greatest GM of all time.

We (me included)  might be making to much of this slim.

When interviewed on "inside training camp" tv show,  they asked Saleh how many reps he was expecting for 1st team @ green & white.... he said 60.... first team is currently running 45...

He didn't elaborate on that so between the beat writers and Saleh... there is something missing.

I think the Jets are being very specific with reps and trying to ramp them up ang get practices more and more intense. Last year we were just like BOOM 60 plays and 6 guys are in the bike area, this year we have seen far less of that.

The Mims fans sure are threatened and triggered by the possibility of Jeff Smith making the roster over him.

Or jeff smith sucks and we seen it before. Mims is gonna be traded we all know that already

Yeah, big picture these are the chances Zach should take because he has the mobility and the arm to do stuff like this.  It’s training camp and he should absolutely work on these YOLO balls if/when he’s getting rushed. I was just pushing back on the assertion that the placement was fine and the receiver screwed Zach. Jeff Smith—who runs a 4.3– is running full speed down the field and Hall is in full stride trying to recover. Not so easy to just hit the e-brake, set your feet and bat away the INT. A better pass there is a TD, and those are the plays that can turn Zach from a yikes-type player to a star.

Good take. Smith had terrible adjustment and that pass is usually not a turnover, but good placement on it would make it a non issue in the first place.

Camp reports are encouraging regarding the defense

The defense seems to have solid talent (secondary, DLine) & depth that is young, yet experienced (CBs Hall, Echols, S: Pinnock & A. Davis, LB Quincy, Nasirildeen, etc), and have been drafted to “fit” Saleh’s defensive scheme.

I thought the defense over performed to open ‘21, considering the dearth of talent, up until about week 3 and then sucked the remainder of the season. Lack of talent was the argument. I personally thought DC Ulbrich was atrocious at adjustments and slightly improved as the season ended.

Should we expect this defense to be in the top 10 right out the gate to open the season considering the significant and material infusion of Football Talent compared to last year’s squad? If Saleh’s faith in his scheme comes to fruition, it should be fun to watch. If not, how long until Saleh capitulates and handles DC duties?

Just asking - Is the offense attacking these LB's with screens/swings/wheels?  We seemed to have a good vibe in last year's camp (at least until Lawson went down) before we realized our LB's were worthless in coverage...

Jets should be calling two deep shots per quarter at a minimum. The old John Madden Randy Moss rule.

Wilson feels like a guy who will always be somewhat erratic but will make some big plays. Jets have some burners at WR and should be able to get some opportunities off play action.

Yeah. They now have speed that will scare people. Hit on a couple and d’s will are no choice but to play back.  Opening up the running game.

Fair enough! As you said, if you’re gonna yolo it, this is the time.  I’m just happy that it wasn’t a bad read or anything ugly so no harm, no foul!

He should YOLO it a lot more! Throwing deep is a good equalizer if you’re not the savviest at reading coverages.

Why do you think Mims will be traded?

Because he wants to play which i don’t blame him. He doesn’t have spot here as far as meaningful role goes And he doesn’t play special teams.

Completely agree. That’s why all this preseason excitement & over-analysis of intra-team practice doesn’t mean $hît until the games matter against opposing NFL teams who want to take out our QB.

This demonstrates why the camp tweets are garbage without context.
