They're not 100% the team doctor and don't sit their doing nothing waiting on an injury. They may be completely capable, but maybe the Jets doctor has done shoulder surgeries a couple thousand times and the Rams doctor has done knee surgeries a couple thousand times. It is probably at the behest of the Jets doctor that this is being done. It's not like Joe D or Saleh were like, "Nah, let's go to this doctor across the country we don't know." It's much more likely the Jets doctor said the best course was to go to the best available expert on the surgery. ..or think of it this way. If you need an offensive coordinator, sure.. you could have a defensive line coach or a special teams coach call plays who are well verse in football and experts in their own area, but it might be better if you went and got the best offensive coordinator available 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
