 Mostly nit-picking…

Tevin Coleman as a safe bet.
Berrios a lock.
Edoga over Feeney and McDermott, Herbig at least leaning making the 53.
Swap Rankins and Huff (but I think they keep 10).
Kwon’s probably a lock.
MC2 over Hall.

Good list. As others have said I’d move Berrios to a lock. Barring injury I’d say Kwon is damn near a lock too, he’s already getting a lot of run with the first team next to Mosley according to practice reports. And I might have Michael Carter II there as well, though that might be a matter of semantics. Would be stunned if he didn’t make the 53 after a solid rookie year, and he would for sure be scooped up off the practice squad.

On another note, I agree with where you placed Huff given his injury history and the sheer volume of DEs they brought in, but really hope he makes the team. His speed off the snap is among the tops in the league and I don’t think we’ve seen anywhere close to his ceiling. Of all the bubble guys, he’s the one I can most easily see being the guy we look back on in a few years wondering how they let him get away.

It’s nice to have enough depth that we will be cutting people who are NFL players. This is the first time in a long time that we have to worry about cutting the wrong person. The DL is especially deep. Nice job Sarge, thanks.

I think the top 5 WRs are a lock, including Mims.  I'm very intrigued by Cager at TE because the physical tools are ridiculous.  I have no real hope why Wesco could make the team, might as well just keep an extra OL.

I don't think Edoga makes it, feel like Mitchell was picked to take his spot.  I feel like Solomon Thomas makes it as well because he's familiar with the system.  Although, need to see how some injuries fall.

What is impressive is that for once, we have depth.  Years past, most of the locks were clear, and we were looking at what other teams could discard.

Agree with most bur berrios is a lock not a safe bet

i think harbrig makes the roster

i see Mimms trending not making the roster ( I see a trade)

Mims along with the top 4 WRs should be on the roster. That is always the problem when those who think you should not be 5 deep at WR. At certain parts of games 4-5 WRs can be on offensive plays at the same time. You can't have any one of them not being good enough to be out there.

Irvin Charles is having himself a nice little camp.....will he make the roster, PROB no, but I gotta  be honest, if he shows up in a few preseason game I wouldnt be SHOCKED, but a bit surprised if he slips in at 5

Solid list, as Kevy Kev said above, Berrios is a lock.  He might lead the team in receptions playing out of the slot.

For the bubble candidates on offense, I see, Coleman, Bawden and Mims as very solid bets to make roster.  If they keep Bawden, I could Yeboah making the team over Wesco.  Smith vs. Charles is probably the last WR spot.  I could also see Ty making the 53 but maybe not the game day roster unless of injury.

Not as convicted on D, I like the list you created, I do wonder if the coaching staff is higher on Curry than maybe we realize.  Seemed like they were eager to get him back.

Totally agree. I don't see both Bawden and Westco making the Roster, there just isn't room. If Wesco can prove to be as effective as a FB in the run game, I think he makes it because of the position versatility. If Bawden is markedly better as a FB and is an asset to the run game (which I think we'll rely heavily on) I think he makes it as Ruckert looks like he will fill the blocking TE role nicely. Only advantage Wesco has is experience at both positions but if he is a noticeable downgrade in the run game I think he's gone.

The other factor and I'm not sure how much of this had to do with availability but Bawden was playing like 70% of the ST's snaps, in addition to getting offensive run while I think Wesco was getting a bit more run offense but less on ST's.  I just feel they're redundant but I agree with your point, it will be highly dependent on who can play the FB position better.

Charles making the roster would have a lot to do with what he could contribute on special teams.  A 5 or 6 receiver needs to be a guy that contributes on specials, and its really hard to know which guys are getting reps on specials.

I’d rank Huff > Martin

There is no way I see Martin getting cut.  The Jets gave him $6M guaranteed.  He is here for sure.  It would cost them more to cut him than to keep him.  Bryce Huff is in the last year of his UDFA contract.  He will be an RFA which means they can keep him cheap or trade him.  He may make the team, but it won't be over Martin.

Nice list.

My personal view:

QB: I think we just keep 2 on the roster

RB: Coleman is at least light green

RB/TE: only one of Bowden/Wesco. Nod goes to Wesco because of Special Teams

LB: Hamsah light green. I got Phillips making the team (dark red). But I might be the only one who thinks that. ?

Here’s my ranking of special teams importance not including the kickers and LS

1: Berrios - returner

2: Hardee: primary gunner

3: Phillips: all purpose. Played on every unit

4: Smith: gunner and returner

5: Wesco: blocker

6: Nasirildeen: all purpose

I think those are the guys Boyer will be pounding for. First two are locks.

Wesco/Bawden - Only one will make it, imo. Leaning Wesco.

Soloman - Making it. DLINE needs deep depth for Saleh.

Mims Vs Jeff Smith is one of the tougher calls. Trade makes sense, but is a "Loss" for JD if it comes to that. 2nd round guy you "dont have room for" that we will have room for next year (C Davis gone). Big investment to then mismanage and have to cut bait with. Would love to see mims here this year, as its highly likely one of CD, EM, GW will miss some time. Mims is up to speed, can play any spot, which kept him off the field last year to some degree. Jeff Smith is probably a better player and WR right now, but MIMS tools and what NYJ has invested in him, makes it more likely they roster him and let Smith go... Were talking about dudes that really aren't "impact" player, so stick with developing YOUR GM's wr Pick who has a higher ceiling. Keep both if you can. there 3/4 WR sets we see more of now will mean more WR injuries.

I like 12 of our DL... i would hate to cut any of them. Rough call for JD. Cutting Real NFL players is a new feeling, and i don't like it! :)

Great job Sarge.

I think they keep 10 DL and Solomon is one of them. No Room for Shep or Curry.

2 QBs, 4 RBs, 4 TE/FB, 9 OL

Fingers crossed for no injuries but some of the hard choices will be solved by an injury, just hope for nothing major

Possible, even likely that one of 53 isn't on the roster yet.
