DetroitRed
Just got back. Zach put up 2 consecutive balls he had no business throwing. Yeah, he was ok otherwise. But , you just can’t do that as an NFL QB
Popular Post kdels62
So here’s my final observations (I will take questions): Zach Wilson: Last year I came away from the Green and White scrimmage worried about the QB1. This year I feel very differently. The kid showed accuracy and arm strength and quickness that lacked last year. While I’m still waiting for the return of his big play ability he is doing other things well. He had a throw in the first 11v11s where he stepped up in the pocket and side armed the ball around the pass rusher to the flat. It was very cool. Anyway I liked his performance today. Conklin: He’s good. Dynamic in small areas. TEs generally: Cager flashed with a few catches, Yeboah did the same, Uzomah is steady. It’s a good room and someone with potential is going to be cut. Ruckert is lucky he was a 3rd rounder at this point. OL: Sign Duane Brown. Good day for Max Mitchell WRs: Corey Davis isn’t in danger of getting cut but his first team reps were limited. Moore was silent. Jeff Smith is either bad or not idk anymore. Mims had some short slot catches. Wilson is fun. Irvin Charles is intriguing. Sauce Gardner: He’s a baller. If he got beat it was deep and very close to the sideline. Very popular, he feels like a star. LBs: Minimal contact so little takeaway here. Kwon played with the second team. Jermaine Johnson: Not a good day for the rookie. Got shut down by Mitchell then run at for a big gain. He failed to disengage in time a few times. I came out more skeptical about him. Pass rushers: Martin, Huff, Lawson, Zuniga were active IDL: Solomon Thomas looked good, Rankins took a knock, just please keep Q healthy. Bryce Hall: Good Day 23 2

Saleh has made that clear.

kdels62
Also a thing that happened. After the practice they set up fire works. There was a countdown. The clock hits zero and then they lower the lights and music starts. As that happened someone runs right passed the firework launcher things. Friggin Garrett Wilson decided to run through the closed off area right before the fireworks started going off.

It wasn't. There are still a handful of people here that are still rooting for Zach to fail. Not a lot but a small handful. Not sure if they're trolls or sincere, but that's not the point really.. There no way you can come out of this worried about Zach. Did he look like Aaron Rodgers no...Did he look light years more comfortable than he did last year. Absolutely. We're looking for progress and it surely seems that progress is there and obvious.
92ShaunEllis92
G. Wilson looks smooth for a rookie, but he eventually MUST gain some more weight to last in this league. He’s Really thin and gazelle-like. His built reminded me of Robbie Anderson, but he was so much crisper in his movements than Anderson ever was. The W2W TD-Bombs-Factory could be fun to watch in a few years if they develop a nice rapport.

I can buy that Zach looked underwhelming. There was a severe lack of big plays today. Personally, I liked seeing Zach do the repeatable in an effective way. Someone with less interest in that type of football might see that Zach was cautious to the point of disappointment. 1

Hal N of Provo
Zach’s trying to process faster and trust his eyes. I expect more boneheaded mistakes than you want from a FQB, but with progress overall. If he speeds up the timeline, great.

Here's the thing - If Zach does the little things well this year - with only a slight of aggressiveness (as he learns) this team will be fighting for a playoff spot. I'm looking for progress - and I think it's clear and obvious he's a different player than he was last. Not sure what underwhelming mean really...but if it's - he didn't look like Rodgers or Mahomes, surely I agree.. but ZW year 1 vs. ZW year 2 - impressive.

I think the processing will come with Zach - the biggest concern I have with ZW is accuracy - and maybe those two are tied together - but still - he seemed to be mostly accurate tonight and that made me feel much more comfortable. He surely needs to be better if he wants to be a legit FQB - but I felt really good about tonight (at least from what heard - part of this is silly as I haven't seen any of it)

Popular Post Coffee Is Great
Fun night. Zach: looked good most of the night until two really poor throws at the end. He was decisive and accurate and showed off his arm strength. The INT was bad, though. Breece: he's going to be good. His athleticism and burst and vision realy stood out compared to the other backs. While there will be an RBBC to an extent I think it's clear that Breece is our most talented back. Curious to see how he looks next Friday vs Philly. I would not be surprised if he was the next in line of rookie RBs who have monster debut seasons. Wilson: I think we finally drafted a stud WR. The OOB catch in the end zone was ridiculous, tracking that ball and the full extension. Sauce: Watching him move in person, I find it hard to believe that he will not be a very good pro. He is a different animal. TEs: Nice to have solid TEs. Zach found his safety valves often. I think he'll see a ton of 12 personnel this year even with good WR depth. Mims: looked fine, didn't get a ton of targets. Moore: pretty quiet night. Becton: Maybe I put too much stock into this, but I just get a bad vibe watching this dude. He was dogging it through their warmup routine while all of the other OL were going hard and taking it seriously. He was half-assing it and goofing around. During the scrimmage, while the second team was getting their reps most of the 1st unit stood on the sideline and watched. Becton sat back on the bench with one or two other teammates. That stuff just rubbed me the wrong way. Not a great teammate, not the best attitude. Admittedly, I may be overreacting. Jermaine Johnson: didn't do much. Overall, Zach showed some improvement and I'm all in our rookie class but bearish on Becton. 5
