He was most definitely not rolled up on. He got jacked head-up and his leg gave out

That was a hungry man level pancake. Fitting considering it happened to a man with syrup for blood.

Discomfort. But he’s in excellent shape, though

You can be in excellent shape and still have discomfort, T0m.

I mean, I’m ready to turn the page in this guy completely, but there’s enough to criticize without leaping into logical fallacy.

So, cut or trade or wait and see if the injury is serious?

Sales sure doesn't seem to think the injury is serious.

Sign Brown regardless.

I think you have to look at Becton as just another guy hoping to play. Counting on him as your reliable starting RT has to be out the window at this point.

Can you believe the negativity of some of these Jet fans?!  It's only been 11 years since we last made the playoffs (by far the longest in the NFL) yet Jet fans don't see the bright side in everything?!

There's a big difference between negativity and the need to hope for the worst of a situation because that somehow makes you feel vindicated. Been a Jets fan since late '60s. I certainly don't need to be reminded of how futile the Jets have been, especially over the past 10 years. I just prefer to take a more positive approach to this year's team. Hopefully, Becton is not out for any length of time. We'll see.  Regardless, I'm a huge Duane Brown fan - sign him. We need depth.

as soon as saleh says the injury is serious he loses any negotiating leverage with brown or another OT

Fair - but IDK - he went out of his way to say the knee appeared to be "stable"

and it may be, but you know they're going to be cautious with him regardless.  figure if there's anything in the mri even if it's minor he's being held out of all preseason games.

No Kool Aid, just not jumping to conclusions and acting like a complete ass, which is the case with too many folks around here. Enjoy your day.

This is not "jumping to conclusions"...

Yep. Which would mean another month of Becton wars on here.

Getting tired of thinking about Becton.

Becton was supposed to miss 4-6 weeks last year and it turned into a season long injury.

Even if Saleh comes out tomorrow and says he shouldn’t miss more than a week or two, who the hell has faith in him being ready for Baltimore?

Duane Brown needs to be signed immediately and Becton shouldn’t be depended on at all moving forward.

If this isn’t season ending, then let Becton serve this year as the swing tackle behind Brown and Fant then move him in the offseason.

Exactly.  We can take no solace in Salah's reassurance. Even if the MRI is negative I expect Becton to start the season on the PUP.

Jonathan Ogden was 6'9" and played at 345 LB's and is in the GOAT conversation.  Becton needed to lose 60 pounds to get there.  He has everything Ogden had, size and athleticism, but not the will.

One of my favorite quotes ever:

When someone shows you who they are, believe them.
