Becton the prophet with those "big bust" t-shirts

What an awful pick by Joe Douglas.

Could have gone for the solid 3-run double into the gap with Wirfs.

Instead tried to swing out of his shoes for a grand slam.

Lamb on the board too.

Thats malpractice they even kept him in there. They should’ve pulled him as soon as they saw him limping around like that

Not really sure that's the case - This was going to happen eventually anyway.  His knee isn't ready.  Looks like he'll be fine from what happened today n- but they just need to sit him for a while longer.  He's just not ready.

Question for anyone who understands knees - does a brace like Becton is wearing help much with dislocated knee caps?  I thought braces like this were mostly to protect things like ACL's.  Not saying it would hurt, but just asking if the brace actually helps Becton given the injury he had.  Thanks.

That was ugly as his knee locked up and gave out prompting him to partly fetal position on the ground. Not a good sign for any knee, but particularly not for a rehabbing knee. Wish we went oline at 4 as injuries are part of the game. Hopefully he gets better soon, but injuries start to lead to other injuries with really big guys. Year round conditioning is key; not just when the union says so for contract purposes.

Mekhi Becton is done ...the guy is unreliable. The best ability is availability.

Would have been a nice story but let's just move on. Same thing with Denzel Mims. Some guys just can't put it all together.. it happens.

We have to put together a good football team that's what matters. Of course I want a 6 ft 8 monster at right tackle, but if the guy breaks his knees and ankles at the beginning of the year every year he's no good to us.

sadly yes

Drafting a 6'8" "freak" athlete monster who can't stay on the field does as much good as drafting you or me to play OT

Bectons the type of player who coaches roll their eyes at when he’s limping. I can tell you for a fact they didnt think he was hurt.

I never think of the OL as ind players but rather one "unit" with familiarity and consistency within the group being a key component.  In order to build this you need availability which is what is so concerning about this situation.  He may miss a day, week, month but it is not just him missing that time it is that trust with the RG and C that is being lost.

I doubt we see him back before week 1.  Just seems like his conditioning is causing these issues and he needs to improve this under the eye of the coaching staff.

I don't think it's a victory lap or celebrating injury.   Like lots of us who questioned Becton, it would be nice for some folks to just admit they were wrong about the guy.

Guy gets hurt, he runs in this thread to say he'll wait for apologies. Seems like a celebration to me. Super lame. Sorry, not seeing your side of this. Just plain stupid.

This was one of those times the team should have stepped in and rested him. There was no reason to push the knee this early.

Bottom line for me is that from the time of his injury the team has obfuscated WTF was actually going on with Becton.  No way he was ready if that's the knee's reaction off a simple play from scrimmage.   That knee was blown apart more than they ever let on.  Now, Becton gets all the grief from us fans instead of JD, Saleh and the team in general.

Playing through some minor uncomfort was basically what Saleh told him he had to do. He made it this far, which was somewhat surprising. He either bounces back quickly and says he’s good or he doesn’t and the Jets have a decision to make.

It wasn’t though. He had an arthoscopic clean up. Granted he’s huge but this was not a major deal injury. Mahomes came back in what 4 weeks or so?

I hear you, Matt.  I just don't believe we ever got the real story, no matter what they tell fans and the media.
