I know I don’t play for the Jets

Just curious on how many posters

When referring to the Jets say. “WE”

Instead of “The Jets” when referencing

OUR team

i also find it a little annoying and is one of the reasons why i won't buy a player jersey.  but, whatever.  if it makes someone feel better about themselves, so what.

I use both we or them/Jets depending on the situation, but I have no concern with the use of "we" in this regard.

The term "12th man" exists for a reason.  Without us, there is no profit, and there is no league.

I see Jerry as more of a snarky in the background and not fully buying in kind of a guy.

Jerry is not a “we” guy.  Nothing wrong with that.  I don’t blink when I see we from anyone on JN.

However anyone refers to the team, we/the Jets, is fine by me.  I just thought the line was funny.

I'm a we guy.

I paid into the team before any of these guys were around, I'll be paying into the team after they're gone.

Yeah, but paying to see every MCU movie + all the merch doesn't make you an Avenger.

This is a very old argument. Most fans feel they are as much part of the team as employees or players. We buy the tickets, merchandise, food, pay for parking, etc.. Without us, they don't  have a product to sell.

Not really sure how accurate that is since the TV rights are a huge part of the income but when fans speak to other fans, "we" is often used when talking about the team. I don't  see anything wrong with it.

He's a comic and that was a joke.

I asked cause one of my friends gets so pissed off when I say we. will continue to say we till I’m no longer around. Just wanted to know if it aggravates other posters lol

It doesn't aggravate me, but it is starting to sound quite silly to me.

To me, what's worse is when people get a custom jersey and put their own name on the back, lol.

I don't care that other people say it but until the organization employs me or shares profits with me, there's no we. Football is entertainment. You don't watch star wars and start talking about how we destroyed the death star just because you rooted for the jedis.

Are you serious? 33 adult years rooting faithfully for this team and I know others have suffered as well.

Professional sports wouldn't exist without us.

We are part of this team, loyal fans.

Sometimes.   Think I use "the team" or "this/our franchise" more often.

I also call myself a "Jet fan", not "Jets fan".  Same with Yankee and Knick.  You guys do this, too?

Because there’s never any more than one Jet on the roster who’s worthy of being a fan of. Once they get to multiple good players maybe Jets fan would apply.

No. I put S at the end for my teams except I watch a little soccer and if someone asks my team sometimes I say Juve instead of Juventus.
