Disturbing details have emerged following NFL great Frank Gore’s domestic violence charge.

Gore was charged with simple assault following a July 31 incident in Atlantic City at the Tropicana Casino’s Havana Tower.

Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that police say that Gore grabbed a woman by her hair while she was naked and dragged her across the hallway of her hotel room.

Gore “violently dragging her nude person along the floor of the 59th hallway” after “forcibly” grabbing her hair, police said in court documents.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after 8 a.m. on July 31, and did not immediately make an arrest as the woman “did not exhibit signs of injury.”

Gore, 39, is set to have a hearing in October.

The former running back for the 49ers, Colts, Dolphins, Bills and Jets is third all-time in NFL rushing yards. His 16,000 yards on the ground trail only Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith.

He left football for celebrity boxing, and defeated Yaya Olorunsola in a fight in May.

Is it really that hard for people to keep their hands to themselves?

You would think that if you never had to work another day in your life and enjoy everything the world has to offer, without financial worries, how much it would take for you to get so upset to put your hands on another human being (especially a woman)  and jeapordize all of it.

It’s unfathomable how many of these guys throw it all away for the dumbest reasons.

I find it almost impossible to believe that you can have personal characteristics of will, leadership, sacrifice, determination, midset and strength (amongst others) to make it to the absolute top of athleticism but then not apply them when it is a matter of losing it all? Can being stupid/dumb apply in so many of these situations?

Can't speak specifically to top tier athletes but my guess would be yes.

Drive route 78 (NJ) at 5:30am or most NJ highways/roads at anytime of day and yes - people of all walks of life are that stupid.

Guessing that most pro athletes come from middle class to low income situations prior to making it big, you'd think that would be reminder enough to keep themself in check for fear of losing it all. It physically makes me angry to see situations like this. Let's for argument sake say the woman connected to Gore is totally in the wrong (before he put his hands on her). She cheated, stole, embarassed him publically, all of the above.  How in the world do you not just walk away knowing you're a former professional athlete and can find someone else in second and get to continue to live this lifestyle?  i will never get it

Unfortunately a lot of these guys aren’t very smart people. In Gores case he looks for an open area and runs to it (I know it’s more complicated than that). They aren’t exactly brain surgeons. Now that I think about it though I feel like it would be interesting to see NFL player IQs or at least the league average.

Always wonder how much this stuff goes on.

Very good friend of mine attended an event in Vegas a few years back and ran in to a very well known NFL player who was there on a paid appearance.  He was also friendly with the rep for the company paying the player.

Next day at the actual event he didn't see the player there.  Asked his buddy when he was expecting the player to do his appearance and the guy just said "Uhhh, we had to ask him to go home last night.  Got a little too handsy with some of the girls".

To me alcohol just brings out what is already there.

As a bartender and professional drinker you're 90% right. There are some people, like myself, who can drink X whenever and be fine but start drinking Y and it's another story. If my gin intake was the same as my beer intake 1:1 I'd be doing hard time. Haven't touched gin in 20 years because I know it makes me a raging a$$hole.

These guys are very competitive alpha males who’ve been coddled their whole life and think they can get away with anything. Rage and intensity works on the football field, not so much in a hotel room in Atlantic City after midnight.

The last of the three times I drank  Black Sambuca was 30 years ago and I’m still apologizing. Anything else I’m a fat, happy affectionate drunk, that shit leaves scars man, leaves scars,

Yep.  Has to be some chemical thing. I've served so many lady snowbirds who love their Sapphire and tonics and sure can put em away yet never get silly or stupid. Some whiskey drinkers I know can drink whatever but they'll call Jack Daniels the devil water from previous experience. It's weird.

Well obviously you are way better than it than me. Whooo-boy

I am not a big drinker so while I like it I do not drink enough to get in trouble.

when the weather gets a bit cooler I bring black sambuca and 43 to the tailgate. I also bring a coffee machine so you are not exactly dealing with a normal person.
