So I went to the game last night, sitting not to far behind the Jets….my thoughts  1) Team looked like it didn’t care. Yea it’s pre season, but this is on Saleh, these guys looked way to relaxed

I did not like  that QW wasnt pulled from that game.  Parcells would have grabbed him by the ears

Actually I view your post as a dumb troll post.  Do you even watch the games?   Or just come on here and tell people to chill , wait for the 17 year rebuild to shape up and extend Douglas and Saleh for their contributions to football.

2 things i was most concerned with

1.  the interior OL, supposed strength of this team, looked bad and pushed around.

2.  vanilla play calling I know but the defense will not be successful w/o blitzing a lot which Saleh will not do in pre-season.  Most QBs will just roll away from 4 man pressure to buy time and find and open receiver.

I'm going to talk about what I saw from Zach which was the whole point of me watching this game.  I saw little or no improvement  over last season. On the pick he locked on the reciever and telegraphed the play. He was doing this all last season. And on the run. No slide  and no going out of bounds says I am still making bad decisions and playing hero ball. Now we might have to wait another season to see him play. 

As for the rest of the team, the OL looked horrible again so it was hard to to judge the other players but Hall looked like he has some wiggle and G Wilson looks like a smooth route runner. Nice GL play by Ruckkert. Not much else to say.

This narrative that they came out unprepared and flat last night is lazy and stupid. 
 

First of all, the “first team defense” was not out there.  
 

No Lawson, no JFM, no Mosley, no Joyner, no Reed.  That was not the “first team defense” out there and three of those guys are arguably our best players on defense.  
 

The defense that was out there actually stopped the Eagles if not for Quincy Williams idiotic penalty on 3rd down.  Quincy Williams certainly didn’t seem “flat” on that play.   You want to call him undisciplined, that’s fair.  But it’s 4th and 5 if he doesn’t hit Hurts out of bounds.  
 

The second drive is on Zach…started at the 20 yard line.  
 

All of those are facts.  But I know facts don’t matter to most people anymore so whine away for the next week until you find something new to complain about next game.

That's not wholly true man.  Jets had the eagles stopped until Quincy did stupid....

There was obviously slop on D, you're right on that but that 1 move by Quincy made a difference.

Exactly.  Wilson just keeps showing us who he is.  How about his first or second throw to a wide open receiver?   Had him for at least a five yard gain, but sailed it 10 yards over his head.  We need to face that Zach is not now, or will ever be, "the guy".

The lack of urgency and attention to detail by Saleh led teams is definitely a pattern.... I like him ... I want positive vibes to work... but I have a sneaking feeling it doesnt work that way.

When everyone gets a trophy.... you end up with socialistic mediocrity.

My observations:

Saleh, Ulbrich, and LaFleur really need to figure out how to get tough ASAP because it’s going to get ugly for them and half the roster will be on IR by Week Six. 
 

2. Saleh and the team also has to stop pretending that Zach is going to turn a corner at some point in the future and that’s going to solve all their problems. Zach may end up figuring it out, but the Jets can’t just sit around and wait for him to become Pat Mahomes. 
 

3. that said, Zach is egregiously terrible right now, and he was rattled from the jump last night. His accuracy sucks, his pocket awareness sucks, and he’s not built for the physical toll of the NFL. Reminds me so much of ex-Giants washout Dave Brown, but Brown was a lot bigger and tougher. 
 

4. Mims is off the team, Becton is off the team, Ashtyn Davis is off the team, and no way is Zuniga beating out Clemons for a job. Douglas’ 2020 is worse than the Idzik 15 (or whatever you call it) because at least Sheldon Richardson has been a quality starter in the league.

5. Sounds like Wilson is going to be out six-ish weeks, and the Jets would be advised to stretch that out a while. He’ll avoid beatdowns against the Ravens, Browns, Bengals, and Steelers, but maybe you slide him back in against the Dolphins, against whom he wasn’t terrible last season. The team will be a bad 0-4 at that point, which will keep expectations low-low, but at least the new OL will have had a chance to play together, and the lone virtue of playing Flacco for any stretch is that the young receivers will be rewarded for running the proper routes—something the wouldn’t have with Wilson. At the very least, the offense will run the way it’s called, even if they suck overall.

it's pre season so relax.  the big thing is wilson got injured and may be out.  this could be good if they can get a guy like garapollo.  there's little to know chance of making the playoffs with the current group of qb's and if they can't bring in a guy who can play effectively from game one they're pretty much toast.  another wasted season.  flacco of a few years ago might have given them some hope but then he would've been the starter and not wilson.

Hes still got that hero ball mentality in his second year, he didn’t learn not to snatch victory from the Jaws of defeat last year with that QB sneak. There was no reason not to run out of bounds considering the stupid hit Quincy put on Hurts, sorry for him but he needs to grow up and fast!
