Tremendous outing last night and wins it in the last seconds. I know it's early days but it would be typical of the Steelers to hit paydirt while we could have gotten him with some creative thinking in this year's draft.

The fans in Pittsburgh already are chanting Kenny Pickett’s name.

Pickett, the 20th overall pick in the draft out of nearby Pitt, is competing for the starting job with free-agent signing Mitchell Trubisky and Mason Rudolph. The rookie completed 13 of 15 passes for 95 yards in the second half with two touchdowns, including the 24-yard score to Tyler Vaughns in the closing seconds.

We know how we are trending then.  The twink starts against Baltimore.  Have to hope he stays healthy so we can replace him based on his body of work in year 2.  If he can't play, then we have to go with him next year to see if he has potential (he doesn't).

He looked good, but he’s played against backups. Doesn’t have a high ceiling with a very average arm and is on the older side. He’s a full year older than Zach. You’d expect him to be decent initially

The 2nd half of the first preseason game is not a barometer for projecting NFL success.  Of the 22 players on the field at any point, the chances are only 5 of them will be on rosters come September.  So let's not fit Pickett for the ROY award just yet.

I'll be revisiting this thread once he wins the starting job, as I think he will.

He did as well as possible with his opportunity regardless of who was on the field.

I floated the idea of picking Pickett with our 4 or 10.  I just hate he went to the Steelers, but it seemed a perfect fit for him.
