SHUT your mouth and go watch youtube highlights of the greats!

Do you even know what football is if you haven't watched youtube clips of the greatest fullback of all time!?!

That reminds me, I've got to make sure youtube comes down to tape future all time great Breece Hall.

The only truly great all time backs I’ve ever gotten a chance to watch with my own eyes are Adrian Peterson and Ladanian Tomlinson. I remember watching the super bowls and being enamored with TD and Faulk but I didn’t really understand what I was watching so I’d have to omit them and go off of just stats and YouTube highlights - but there are lots of flaws with that line of thinking. Case in point: by stats alone, you’ll have guys like Martin and Tiki in the same poll as Barry, Faulk, LDT and Juice.

So basically what I’m saying is that my list would be pretty uninformed so there’s no point in putting one up, especially with the PFF limitation of parsing out FBs and RBs. I will just say that the best YouTube highlights are ALWAYS Barry Sanders and Earl Campbell compilations.

Personally, Adrian Peterson is the best back I’ve ever seen play in real-time, and I don’t think anyone over the last 20 years is close. So it warms my chilly little heart to see something like this:

Its between Barry Sanders and Jim Brown.  No one else (even Sweetness) is particularly close.

You could take both players in their prime, put them in the league today, and they would completely dominate just as much if not more than they did back then.

I would take Payton over Sanders.  What about Campbell?  His issue is the shorter career, but Campbell could have walked on a field in any era and dominated.

GOOD GRIEF!!!! :)

I think @Jetsfan80 is pleading insanity @Charlie Brown. It’s his only hope for redemption.

After Jim Brown, I think O.J was the greatest back of all time. Why.  Old Rich Stadium was the worst field to run on considering his style of running. That's why a lot of people we're telling him not to sign there. Even if he really didn't have a choice.

(Classic Paraphrase by Ned Beatty from the movie Network.  For the younger fans, you really need to watch this film.  It was decades before it's time.

Folks truly don't understand just how DOMINANT OJ was.  Unfortunately his only known these days by his ex-wifes murder.     The Juice was better than majority of names on that list.   His 2,000 yard season in a era when defenses could practically take your head off, was still perhaps the greatest single season a running back has ever had.

I will agree with this.  There are not many guys that can lay a true claim to #1 overall.  Payton, OJ, Sanders.  Brown.  I would add Campbell, but I think his career was a bit short for true #1 status.

There are plenty of great backs.  Plenty that you can win a title with, but anybody that thinks Curtis Martin, Frank Gore, or Tiki Barber is on a level with those guys is nuts.

OJ always knew how to effectively slash the defense

Martin and Gore both had insane durability though.  To last as long as those guys did at that position is superhuman

The next part is about the drunk.  Once there was a man named Jesse, messy, messy, Jesse.  He wore his clothes very messy.  Which is what we always called Jesse Orosco.

In a 14 game season.

I was at the game where he broke 2000. Last game of the season at Shea. He needed 197 yards and got 200. Joe Ferguson threw for 70 that day. Sucked seeing the Jets lose (again), but even back then I knew I was watching history.

If only I could’ve seen Jim Brown live, who should’ve been in this poll.
