Barkus
Greg the Leg has won the job. I liked piniero, he was dependable. Greg had some consistency issues last yr. Fits the Jets MO , they prefer strength over accuracy in their kickers.
Joe W. Namath
No surprise because of his relationship with Boyer. I am not high on Zuerlin. He is erratic. I heard he had surgery recently so hopefully that fixed whatever was causing his issues. I will be holding my breathe every kick until this guy proves he can be consistent. 3
Chewy and the Jets
Pleased about this. I liked the other guy but the ball seemed so darn heavy when he kicked. No explosiveness, no height, not great for a meaningful kick in cold weather. Not that we've had many of those in recent memory.

Popular Post slimjasi
Not a fan of the move. I prefer the more accurate/reliable kicker. I would have kept Eddy P.

mrcoops
I like steady Eddy, but Zuerlein has a more powerful leg and has had a much longer history of success in the league. Hopefully, Pineiro gets picked up elsewhere as he is a legit NFL kicker.

I would have just kept the less talented but more accurate/reliable kicker. I'd rather have a guy be money from inside of 40 and struggle with 50+ yarders than have the erratic guy who can kick it a mile but can miss an XP at any time. IMO the best kicker in Jets history was Pat Leahy. He definitely did not have a strong leg come up but he was almost automatic under 50. That's what you want. You could have Mann try for the 55 plus
