Keeping Jimmy G is a very good move for the niners

And if they've made his contract more team friendly, it makes it easier to trade him during the season.  They could get lucky with some team who has a chance to contend losing their starting QB and giving them something decent for Jimmy G as a rental.

Anae looked good against the Falcons and Giants.  Numbers game at DE.

If Shepard makes the cut over Anae, I think I'd be a little disappointed. Anae at least flashed this offseason. How Shepard has lasted on the team this long kind of astounds me ??‍♂️

Whatever, the Jets know way more about this roster and what these guys bring to the team than I do. And, frankly, I'm not even that smart when it comes to things I actually do know about.

Read that there’s a no trade clause. No tag clause, too.

Different positions.  I think it’s more likely Huff that takes Anae’s spot.

I’m a fan of Coleman, and want/expect him to make the roster. The man is just a professional who can step in and play every facet of the position very well. When UFDAs can come into the league with NFL level pass blocking and receiving skills, that opinion might change for me. But behind Hall and Carter? I love having a guy I know I can send in there to run, catch, or block and rely on if I need him. Can still carry a guy like Knight, too. In fact, I hope that’s exactly what they do.

That's fair. If they keep 4 RBs and Coleman and Bam make it, I'd feel a lot better about it. Bam could very easily be another in an endless list of no name guys that flashed in preseason and turned into absolutely nothing but I like taking a swing on those guys, when possible. I'd certainly take Bam based entirely on flash and POSSIBLE potential over a Ty Johnson

Thanks for the updates!

Guys please keep in mind that this is phase 3 of the off-season? This is when the GM's grab guys that shake loose that fit their schemes. The dolphins just released Sony Michel and this is also where we grabbed Morgan Moses and then lost him again last year. There's going to be a lot of shuffling around there's a lot of guys getting cut loose.

Agreed.  I just cant see the team going into the season with 2 rookie RB"s and 1 second year RB.  Coleman brings a veteran presence to the RB room.  Bam is a good story and hopefully gets on to the practice squad and awaits his time.  Injuries will occur.  He will get a chance, but that just isnt yet.  Coleman is the more solid choice.

I think JD is being respectful to the players and releasing them as the decisions become final-final.

Calvin Jackson will find another job on an NFL team or a spot on the Jets' PS.

I’m not sure these have been officially announced from the Jets?

These are most likely coming from the player/agent.

They don’t.  6 wins says so

Wow...if that's true, then that's maybe why he gave up some money for this year.  With no trade, no tag, he's basically in control of where he ends up next year.

Yes. He wasn’t gonna get any money from anyone else this year. Now he has $6.5M guaranteed if he doesn’t play a down -maybe a lot more if he does- and has complete control over where he winds up next year when he’ll be in high demand on the free agent market.
