Craig Carton To Have New Show On FOX (“The Carton Show”)

Come the fall, Craig Carton is going to have a lot on his plate.

Fox Sports announced Wednesday that “The Carton Show” will air with a rotating cast of co-hosts on weekday mornings at 7:00 a.m. ET, starting Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The Post’s Andrew Marchand first reported back in May that the show with Carton was going to happen. He also later reported that Fox Sports had eyed Damien Woody as a potential co-host, but ESPN would not let the former offensive lineman out of his deal.

Carton will remain in afternoon drive from 2:00 p.m. through 6:30 alongside Evan Roberts on WFAN.

If you asked me five minutes ago I would have said even in the mid to late 90s people would not have found Carton compelling on the radio. The fact that he is getting more work now is seriously subverting my expectations.

He’s he reason I haven’t listened to WFAN since he got back.   Not once other than sporting events.   
 

There are just so many good podcast, that are actually informative, enjoyable and far less commercials.  
No longer held hostage by those two stations if you want sports talk.

I like to bet on sports and there's a lot out there talking about the actual games and numbers on a lot of those podcasts. Never have to worry hearing about the sexist roots of mezzanine seating or if buffalo wings are racist.

I for one like Carton...

I believe he is working to be a better person...

But he is greatly increasing his stress level,

and has decided to chase the ever elusive "More"...

Where "getting more" becomes more important than just "having enough"...

Where "doing" becomes more important than just "being"...

Where "the next moment" has to be so much better than just living in "this moment"..

It is the kind of thinking that fuels a lot of destructive behavior...

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this will end well...

Carton is funny - most of the time. He's entertainment. He had success and then he failed and now he's continuing - the guy gets some credit.

Don't ask me why I clicked on a Carton and Roberts video but listen to him at 5 seconds, Carton treats some co-worker named Tommy like Bababooey, saying "good to be back, bawth".   We all always knew he was trying to steal Howard Stern's act but this is ridiculous.

As usual, I had to turn it off within 5 seconds of turning it on.
