Shea was so nuts in those days that I don't doubt it at all. Rumor has it that a few incorrigibles would consume alcohol and other substances during games. Maybe @Dcat will remember. Hopefully someone does. I never attended a game at shea. We did not have tickets and lived in Jersey so it was tv only. When they moved to the meadowlands, they still did the chants in the endzone for a few years and I was at 1 or 2 games and definatly saw a guy with a wig doing the chant in the upper deck endzone. I worked with someone who was part of a color guard squad that would perform at halftime.
