Fant is not 100% and a rookie is starting at RT when he should be seeing playing time until garbage time. We are a tweak away from having McDermott and Mitchell as our bookend tackles. Oh, and McDermott is not 100% either. This line IS in absolute shambles.

It’s down 1 starter…

the one guy missing from the OL is the guy who joined us about a week ago. and even when he did join us he got hurt real fast. Mitchell has been here all of TC and whatever other offseason programs we had.

we might be better off.

From ridiculous Zach Wilson conspiracy theories worthy of Qanon to this play Streveler stuff,  to the "how many ways can I find to say Zach sucks" guys this board has become insufferable

I think Streveler should play, just in the CFL.

With Fant back at LT and Max playing RT, our line is probably the lineup it should have since been day 1.

Now back to Streveler...I hear ya when you say "Strev is an undrafted 4th string practice squad character for a reason". But Tom Brady was nearly-undrafted 4th string QB himself at one time, but then his 'opportunity' materialized, and the rest is history.

Maybe Strev just needs his own opportunity to materialize?

If Flacco re-injures his neck or is given the hook, Mike White becomes the starter, and cameras will focus on Strev tossing ball around the sidelines, just waiting.....for his opportunity to materialize.

Just in case you didn't read this the first time.

Coulda had Mitch or Gardner but we wanted to preserve BYU’s confidence by not having someone breathing down his neck. But a blade of grass was able to shatter his confidence anyway.

Confidence comes from overcoming obstacles, not an absence thereof. Just once it would be nice for the Jets to make a young QB “earn it.”

The left tackle has changed positions more times since July than you've changed your socks. The right tackle was fourth on the depth chart a few weeks ago.

It's a disaster.

The OL, returning the entire Left side exactly intact from last season and adding a ProBowl caliber G is only missing 1 player, a RT and now instead they have a 4th round pick with high upside playing at that spot and you equate this to a disaster?

Yet, playing a 4th string practice squad scout QB is not as you say, a disaster?

The bills played a 3rd round rookie last year all year at rt. We’re they in shambles?

The left tackle is the guy that played great at left tackle last season.

The center is a strong vet and the two tackles are a new pro bowler and a 2nd year 1st round pick.

The sky isn't falling because a newly drafted player has to start at right tackle.

Counterpoint: rolling out an offensive line combination that has practiced together for three days total is probably going to yield some spotty results, and relying on a disgruntled vet whom you refused to give an extension to all summer to flip-flop back and forth from right to left tackle is probably going to result in that player taking an extended injury break at some point unless he gets paid. Fant came up with a mystery injury the same day Brown went down with his mysterious shoulder injury, and if Fant goes down for any length of time, the Jets probably aren’t winning a single football game this season.

Just want to preface that I'm not one of the people who was pining for this guy to stay on.

However with the O-Line in absolute shambles, we need to accept that we aren't going to be a passing team. The QB simply won't have enough time to throw. So that means we need to run a triple option or the veer. Basically an antiquated run-oriented offense.

Flacco and White can't run such an offense, but Streveler can.

It's the only shot we have at having some sort of enjoyment this season. Otherwise it's another year pissed down the drain. And this time we haven't even made it to Week 1.

These goddamned Jets. Every damned year.

LOL

This wont and should not be happening.

But we should get excited over playing a QB who,was 4th on the depth chart a few weeks ago?  A 27year old rookie QB, who wasn’t even allowed to make practice throws.  Because he beats 4th string defenses

Fant's injury isn't a mystery injury it is real. He will play but totally agree on his value.

They got it right by betting on Fant over Becton. They got it wrong betting on Brown over Fant.

Sign him to a new deal and keep him at left tackle. They do need to make it right (no pun intended).

This is not at all burn you think it is. He must have been serviceable at RT and a hell of a value for the 3rd round.

Our OL is in shambles because we moved a left guard to right guard, a left tackle to right tackle, no wait, we moved a right tackle to left tackle after the left tackle we signed to replace the left tackle who went to right tackle had to go back to left tackle. Also, Joe Flacco threw the ball 50 times because they couldn’t run block.

Also, Also, please don’t compare Joe Flacco to Josh Allen. Please. Ok?

This is getting a little out of hand. Mitchell is a 4th round pick. Those guys start all the time, including as rookies. Fant is a perfectly serviceable NFL left tackle. The idea that the whole offense is going to collapse, to the point that we should be rolling out some never-was as a sacrificial lamb, is kind of crazy. The Ravens are down their LT, too. Are they going to hand their offense to Tyler Huntley?

Why would they need to, they have a franchise QB.

We have Noodle Knee, who's out.  And Joe Flacco, who is a statue.

Not quite the same situations.

The LT is the same as last year, Pro bowl lg, average center and same as last year, top 15 pick rg, rookie rt. This type of OL is completely fine most teams don’t even have a line this decent. Flacco made the ol look way worse than it was. He’s a statue and held the ball for far too long. You saying the ol is in shambles is ridiculous. Do you watch other teams? If you did you would know they aren’t that bad. The qb has a huge effect on how the ol looks

Why? He is an older, sloppier version of our boy, The Strev.

41/12 TD/INT on trash teams. I’d bet on that over over Strev. But absent that yeah let’s see what CFL can do why not?

Trade for Minshew NOW

The trade deadline is November 1st

If Zach comes back Week 4 and still looks like he’s made little to no progress by the Broncos game, JD should be on the phone with San Fran trying to make a deal for Garoppolo.

People can say what they want about Jimmy, but the dude has proven to be a more than capable QB when he’s healthy and he already knows this offense like the back of his hand.

Team him up with dudes like Moore, Wilson, Berrios and Carter/Hall and we might have something.

I did. He was awful. The line was awful. An awful QB and awful OL makes for an awful result.

There’s an obvious correlation which seems to escape you. To make it very very basic - bad qb makes ol look bad
