Kind of amazing how quickly this place turned on Saleh (merged)

Saleh commands the respect of a substitute teacher. ( no disrespect, my father in law is 83 and a substitute teacher)

there’s always the self motivated kids that are going to give their best anyway but then there are the kids that see it as a day off.

the problem obviously is he’s the real teacher and it’s happening everyday

The bitches in our awful fanbase complain if our coaches don’t show emotion, but then when they do, they complain that they should shut up and prove it.

Most of our fans quite literally suck.

It is a good response. However, he shouldn’t have to walk anything back because our fans and media cry all ******* day. You want a tough, ballsy coach? Don’t seek to censor him when he’s playing the part.

Most of our fans might figuratively suck, but most of us are not LITERALLY sucking anything. With that out of the way, Saleh's response is AWFUL if the team doesn't win. "All gas, no brake" backfired bigly. "Positive vibes only" quickly turned into "I'm going to beat you up in front of your family after school."

More action, less words.

"part of the clean pocket is the offensive line's responsibility"

Brilliant insights from a brilliant man.

"Scoring more points than your opponent is part of winning games."

"Getting the football over the crossbar and between the uprights is part of kicking a field goal."

"Not allowing the other team to gain enough yards for a first down is part of forcing them to punt on fourth down."

Our fans sucking is simply a reflection of the team.   Everyone on this board is a fan of the Jets with very few exceptionns.   Once the team rids itself of the disease the fan base will miraculously be healthy.

you can see the media is already trying to cancel Salah for those comments and force him to take it back. i hope he stands by those words. man up. who cares if some fans get pissed. Parcells and Belichick even on their very 1st day of coaching would never walk anything back.

the ravens were playing without their starting RBs and a third string LT. Every team has injuries. No more injury excuse for the Jets

That game is completely different if Zack is at QB instead of Flacco. Flacco moving around with Cinderblocks on his feet in the pocket. At least Zack would have some escapability to break off a 30 yard run etc.

Why do people keep saying this?  You're assuming he's going to be running around like crazy coming off getting his knee nearly crushed?

Sure, he'd be more mobile than Flacco.  But so would a mannequin.

And why do people assume when he's back playing he'll be using a walker just to stand behind center. He had a knee injury last season and had plenty of mobility when he came back. This isn't Joe Namath at the end of his career where he could barely stand on his damaged knees.

The team ended the year relatively strong. Playing good competitive games. You were in love with LaFleurs play calling and the main question was Wilson- was he holding the offense back? The other question was the Defense, could Saleh actually put together a good D?

Well, after a universally praised off season it seems like most of this place is ready to fire Saleh after one game. A game were the defense answered the bell and looked fantastic.

The offense was abysmal, but didn’t you all love LeFleur last year? This surely is an aberration right? I mean Wilson was holding this offense back and we only added a ton talent.

Isnt the rational reaction to week 1 to be happy that the defense appears to be legit and assume that the offense will find its way since it proved last year to be competent, or at least coached competently by LeFleur (according to you)

i am going to make it simple...we lived with whatever that was last year, it was unacceptable for his team to be so unprepared last week. he also had that wilson thing that made it seem like they are lying to us, and then he doubled down with his us against everyone (many read, including the fans speech). so yeah...it took a few weeks...but its completely logical and reasonable.

he now has no benefit of the doubt, and will have to prove that he can win the fans back.

which is ok.

Perhaps.

Then again Saleh has had more to work with than Gase ever did - and even less to show for it.

You say that but that’s not true. That was a very competitive game until our punter shat himself. There were several very competitive games to close the year as well.

It was not a competitive game.

And blaming it all on the punter for a single 20 yd shank? May I remind you the score was 24-3 TO START THE 4TH QUARTER.

Should we be proud? Did we "fight hard"? Do we withhold the punter's participation trophy then?

Flacco's indecision costs more than his inability to scoot around. ZW would have been better, agreed.

Strev can at least scramble for a 1st down.

Opens up the playbook in ways Flacco never could.

If Saleh despises MW — which he clearly does — at least have the guts to start Strev.

The worst that can happen is you lose the game, which is what you’ve been doing with Flacco anyway.

you beat me too it.

people around here act like Zach is Aarron Rodgers..

Jet Nation: "oh you wait till Zach gets back, he would have played better than Flacco....."

Jet Nation: "Zach would have been scrambling out of that pocket completing passes left and right, not like that statue Joe Flacco."

its like half this board didnt watch any games last year. until Zach proves otherwise he is the worst QB on this team. and yes worst then 37 yr old statue Joe Flacco.

This is simply not true.  Winning will not cure the disease.  The disease will get worse once we start winning.

Jet fans hate their team.  They love this misery.  Watch how angry the fanbase will get when the winning starts.

The Jets are f**kin lucky to have fans at all.

Our team’s fans don’t literally OR figuratively suck.  We’re some of the most loyal in sports.  We’re allowed to complain as much as we want, even if those complaints become seemingly “unreasonable”.
